I think not any other boxer can do what Pac did to dela Hoya in that one sided fight. Pac is Pac. He
has that unique speed and power, and superior physical qualities that would compensate from his lack of height. Hey may be short but he has more muscles in his legs than dela Hoya or any other fighter in his division.

So fighters never lie? Is that what you are telling me? How many times have fighters said one thing in a post fight interview and another a few weeks after? You are going to sit there with a straight face and tell me Oscar wasn't weight drained and didn't have a hard time maintaining his weight? I give Pac credit for coming up to Welterweight and beating Oscar, but Pacman is receiving way too much credit. Just read some threads that have been made already. Pacquiao is made out to be God like when he beat an Oscar who couldn't pull the trigger all night.

Oscar was the bigger man:lol:. Paul Williams and Verno Phillips weighed in at 154 in their fight...on fight night Verno was heavier than Paul....so was Verno the bigger man? Don't answer that......no need! The point is Weight was only an indication of how well conditioned DLH was.....it could also indicate being over trained. Regardless of what excuses can be made the fact is PAC was the smaller man....Height and reach were in DLH favor which are the most important physical advantages to have going into a fight. Sure there are fans getting carried away with what PAC has done but on the other end of the specturm we have "haters" who refused to give PAC any credit so there is some what of a balance.

I think you're wrong. The same thing applies to a skilled fighter like Joe Calzaghe. His fighting style throws fighters off their game.

Case in point BHop vs JCal. No doubt BHop remained competitive and might have won on some peoples scorecards but compare how he looked in that fight versus how he looked agaisnt Pavlik. Night and day correct? Why? Because of the Joe Calzaghe factor.

The same applies to Manny, his movment, ring generalship, and speed completely stumped Hoya and threw him off his game.

It's not as simple as "any decent boxer would have done the same thing" :dead

the reason roach and pac took the fight was because he thought delahoya was done before even stepping in the ring, the fight was picked on the basic principal that oscar was shot, not saying pac doesnt have skills but look at the fight again oscar is a legend and u mean to tell me pac who is not a pure boxer like mayweather or hopkins competely confused oscar even though oscar has been in there with greats like quartey whitaker shane mosley prime

Yeah, he's getting too much credit. All the other times a former flyweight world champion have beaten a former world middleweight champion at welterweight were far more impressive. All the other times a guy who was at superfeatherweight the fight before last has jumped 2 weight divisions to fight at welterweight were far more impressive too. He is getting way too much credit.

Of course! I knew he would beat the crap out of de la Hoya. Now people on here are saying, no doubt now, he is p4p #1, because he beat de la Hoya!:rofl Oscar has been shot for years now. Look at his last couple of fights.

LOL.. he was a 19/1 underdog in the Ring Magazine writers' pick. Most experts picked Oscar to dominate and destroy him and when he comes up with a miracle performance, it's only because Oscar is shot.

Freddie saw Oscar's symptoms when he trained him for the Floyd fight. If that were true, then Floyd doesn't deserve credit for that win. Nobody gets credit. But the fact is, it was a SD win against the former p4p king, which meant he was still competitive and far from being shot. He just didn't have a clue how to deal with Manny last Saturday. Credit should go to Manny for being a smaller guy who gave the big guy a neat boxing lesson.
