Not too many guys I know of at his age that would of taken that fight or any fight. BHOP pushed his luck and I was nervous when he went out head first but dude stil healthy and got his marbles so naw
Nawww, RJJ didn't really come that close to being KOOTR against Tarver. He slipped under the bottom rope with his head grazing the bottom rope as he fell and landed undernearth it. Had he fallen down any closer to the ropes his upper body and head would have been held up by the bottom two ropes. It's pretty much impossible to be knocked out of the ring by slipping underneath the bottom rope. We can confidently say that Roy Jones hasn't come close to getting KOOTR. Hopkins on the other hand has gone through the ropes not once but twice, and once by a referee !! Hopkins KO on Saturday was worse than any of Roy Jones KOs and that's saying a lot. Roy's been KO'd cold but at least he didn't ever get knocked through the ropes on to his head, then claim he was pushed!!
Bernard was punched into the ropes which in my opinion were far too slack that is why he went out of the ring & landed on his head. I would love to be able to ask Robert Gonzalez who always erected the rings for fights in Dallas/Ft Worth Texas, his opinion. He was very particular To be honest I thought he'd have been hurt far worse. Nard is no angel but I'm damn glsd to have been around to see his fantastic career Shame it had to end in contraversy
Is when you've got trolls claiming Nard took a dive. That man had an incredible career he just took one too many chances
Sure just turn in a recording breaking, legendary damn near 30 year career, and I'm sure somebody wouldn't mind paying you 800 G's to get knocked the **** out.
I don't feel sorry, it is boxing. He had a long, successful career. It was the kind of loss that also, helps the fighter retire and stay retired. A lot of greats went out, on their back. He had nothing to prove. He could of chose a club fighter, but instead he matched up with a young, decent fighter. Hopkins, at end of his career, still got in the ring with champs and contenders. For whatever reason, I was never a fan of BHop, but I respect his courage, skill, career longevity, dedication to the sport.
You all can try & diss Bernard Hopkins all you want but you'll never see his like again. He is a true ATG & a legend in the sport
