I actually thought he looked as comfortable as I've seen him getting punched last fight.

I thought the Thompson fight was actually a very good performance by Wlad.

    Exactly!
They all say "I will pressure Wlad" and it never works
Peter, Brock, Byrd, Austin, Brewster, Thompson......they all said the same thing. "I am going to pressure Wlad, make him fight while he is backing up". It hasent worked yet and I dont see Povetkin being any different.

"Pressure" might be Povetkins game plan, but when he starts eating the awesome jab and strong rights, povetkins game plan will be out the window

He has a chance but not much of one. He's a good fighter but he's being rushed. Wlad is a pretty bad match-up for him stylistically anyway. I mean he's shorter and a bit open defensively with his aggressive and pressuring style. That's the sort of style that could work but he doesn't have the sort of concussive one shot power needed. He's more of a solid accumalation puncher.

He's got a shot. While I think Wlad is very good, counting out the unbeaten Olympic Gold Medalist number one contender completely is a foolish thing to do :good

I do think he is challenging for the title too soon though, and doesn't have the power needed to beat Klitschko. I expect Wlad to win via clear UD or perhaps late stoppage.

Huh? Thompson was scrappy and forced Wlad to go to the body a bit, and take punches. Critics who wanted to see Wlad in a rough type of fight got it. I don't see Wlad in decline at all. He is in his prime right now.

Anyone who completely counts Povetkin out is wrong. This is HW. anyone at this weight can get lucky, but if Wlad is on his game, I just dont see Povetkin having enough tools to upset the #1 HW in the world

Thats because the HATERS are never satisfied. Wlad wins by KO the haters say the guy wlad beat was worthless, or Wlad should have KO'd him earlier.
He is just comming into his prime and it scares the hell out of the haters.

Wlad will not lose again before he retires!

I don't know who these "haters" are, but I take exceptioin with his choice of opponents and do so before they are inevitably KOd, before they are even signed in fact...even now WLAD looks for the easy payday he can get from beating up David Haye...there is always a better fight than the one he chooses.

When he chose to fight Brock voluntarily, he could have fought the WBO World Champion who knocked out Brock for five minutes sparring...with headgear on...and the guy (Lyakhovich) was calling out WLAD for unification.

    ...that's just one example.

...and about retiring...???He might not lose again before he retires...but he will retire having faced no "all time greats," losing to "part time" fighters and journeyman, never having gone to war, never taking the natural gifts of a man his size into dangerous territory...taking what his supporters admitedly call the "lower risk" fights...and best of all letting his big brother draw question to WLAD's status as leader of the division.

    ...some legacy he's building.

There were talks with the "white wolf" who 's team never returned an answer until it was to late. But see, those kind of things never hit the papers or web sites.

I can tell you that Wlad tries to fight the best available. It doesnt always happen, Politics, ducking, more $$$ there is alot that goes on that the public knows NOTHING about.

Im not making excuses, im saying its not as easy as everyone thinks to get the best guys out there

It doesn't ever happen...and they use the politics and so forth to their advantage. I have a hard time accepting the "victim WLAD," who try as he might is forced to face the competitors everyone knows he can beat.

    It works to his advantage.

...just like right now, with HAYE.

The next undeserving guy is already within WLAD's sights, even before competing in the division.

    Hold on Suge.
Wlad told Haye to "get in line". Wlad does not have a fight with Haye at this time. The public and media are the ones pushing this match up
If Haye wins his fight and is listed in the top 5, then I have no problem with Wlad fighting him if Haye is the best available at that time.
Its another guy in the top 5 that Wlad will fight and beat. Blame the alphabets for this. Nothing wrong with a champion fighting a top 5 guy is there?

I know you think Toney should get a shot. Maybe that will happen. Time will tell

...but you know Haye has already undeservedly received top 5 rankings in 2 organizations. Why would you have no problem if he's ranked, that's a case of using this BS to KLIT's advantage...just like how it always works out. Haye is just as undeserving with or without a BS ranking, he didn't even earn it in the ring through competition.

It is not the publics demand. The U.S. doesn't know who Haye is, just because our friends the Brits are pushing him the world isn't supposed to stop. Haye needs to fight some dangerous oppnents at HW, not fight like WLAD's team would say..."the best available..."

I think when these guys say "Best available" they are talking about the tougest guy they can actually beat.
