Good questions, sweet pea!! Povetkin has been one of the most successful amateur heavyweights of all times. He may be rushed a little bit into the biggest fight of his entire pro and amateur career, but I guess he is experienced enough to cope with the pressure. Wlad will be in for a rough ride against the olmypic gold medal winner.I am quite sure that Povetkin will make the water very hot for Wlad. Not really sure whether he can really defeat Wlad or not,but he for sure has the potential to upset the apple cart.
Sam Peter who couldnt hold a candle to Povetkin at the amateurs had a pretty close fight with Wlad.Povetkin is head and shoulders above the limited and slow African.
Wlad had better keep his nose to the grindstone or he will be in for a big surprise IMO.

This is professional boxing not amateur boxing. Wlad also won!!! olympic gold.

Povetkin did not won it, his opponent did not come to the final so Povetkin become olympic gold.

But here we are talking about professional boxing. Wlad had one of the greatest trainers in his corner and believe me this will be a factor in the fight. And Wlad had a very good cutman and Wlad can handle cuts etc.

Povetkin will get tired after three rounds, but he did not know why and than Wlad will take him out cold.

I can't see Povetkin beating Vlad. Vlad by knockout or TKO.

Big step up for Povetkin, so Wlad of course starts favourite. Povetkin has good workrate and skills but is likely to have trouble closing the distance, but I guess that is something they will try and work on before the bout. If he can close effectively and often he really could make a fight of it.

I havnt seen enough of Povetkins fights to know for sure how good his chin is, I presume its pretty good at least and I'd say It will need to be if he want to get inside to where he will be most effective as he is likely to take a few shots getting there.

Povetkin has an outside chance at winning...he is an interesting long shot. I say this because if Povetkin is durable enough to withstand the punishment Vlad gives him (and Vlad will certainly punish him), then he could storm back to win by later round kayo.

Remember, even though Vlad is the best heavyweight out there today, he does suffer from stamina and durability issues. Thus, swarming brawlers like Povetkin always stand at least some hope of beating Vlad.

The big question here is what's going to happen in the early and middle rounds, when Vlad bangs his big right hand on Povetkin's jaw.

I still pick Vlad to win -- probably by kayo -- but Povetkin at least has a chance at victory.

I like Povetkin in this fight. Think he can cause all sorts of problems for Wlad. I like Povetkins busy style and high work rate, has a nice array of punches, impressive fighter. In saying that though maybe his high work rate could play into Wlads hands ? Povetkins strength could be his downfall, He has to box intelligently. He really knows what he's doing in the ring. He has a wealth of experience and i like the fact that he's not scared to get in close and mix it up, he has a great uppercut with either hand.
