I have begun editing my second video, its on salvador sanchez. I was wondering if any of you fine fellows could help me track down some salvador sanchez training footage or even interviews, there is a really small amount of stuff not related to fighting on this guy. Thank you very much!
I would suggest trying to get in touch with Grant Elvis Phillips. I know he’s been an avid collector on Sanchez for 40 years.
I do know that Salvador Sanchez was decked and outpointed by southpaw Juan Escobar in 1978, but that was his only lass. He went on to stop Danny Little Red Lopez in round 13 on Fwb 2 1980, then went on to defend his title 9 times until his death on Aug 12 1982, the result of a car accident.
He got a draw in that fight. Lucky too according to reports. His loss was for the Mexican bantamweight title against Jose Becerra a little before that. That one he was considered unlucky and the victim of a hometown robbery.
