I have seen the overall stats, where Mayweather heavilly outscores Oscar with both jabs and power puinches. I am in a tiny minority, possibly of one person who feels Oscar won a maximum of 2 or 3 rounds - and those sheerly based on going forward and throwing many barely effective punches.

I am curious to find some round by round stats as I feel they would somewhat legitimise my view some more. I can obviously see why many people were scoring Oscar rounds, based on aggression. However I liked Floyd in this one, he didn't run. He stood in front of Oscar, dodging, and countering with the more hurtful shots even. He was also landing in greater volume, even if Oscar caught a few with his gloves early on.

Also, are there any others out there, who scored the fight for Floyd so heavilly?

I originally scored the fight 8-4, the last 2 times I scored it 8-3-1.

I don't feel that PBF ran and often was actually in front of DLH simply countering and moving but still within punching range.

Not me:oops: - However, I might have been biased when I saw it, and haven't seen it since. I even had Oscar edging it out.

Oscars tactics were obviously effective, given the view the judges get from ringside. It probably looked really good from where they were sitting.

I had it 9-3. There was one round that I thought was real close and gave it to Oscar(Oscar ended up landing one more punch in that round). So I can definately understand someone scoring it 10-2. Your analysis of the fight is spot on. Oscar landed very few clean shots the entire fight and they were pretty much, if not all, jabs. I have no idea how anyone could give Floyd less than 8 rounds in ths fight. Oscar wasn't demolished, but he landed hardly any clean shots while Floyd was picking him off with jabs, straight rights and hooks.

Good to know there are others who saw it similarly. I was comtemplating whether I might be insane after the SD was announced and when many people where content with the verdict.

It was about as legit a split D as in DLH v. Mosley I.

Your scoring system suits Calzaghe's volume in slaps, rather than Kessler's orthodox, solid punches.

I think people were fooled by the announcers. They were dsgraceful. The whole fight they were trying to invent reasons for why Oscar was winning. Finally in the 11th Floyd was beating the hell out of De La Hoya, just picking him off with shots. Lampley and Co. finally started giving Floyd his props. All of sudden, after getting beat up for 2 1/2 minutes, Oscar lands a good straight shot flush on Floyd's face. Manny Stewart immediately says "It'll be interesting to see how this round is scored". Punchstats showed Floyd outlanded Oscar something like 26-7 in that round.

I do rate his slaps very highly, as much as his aggression. So I gather that you can't see Calzaghe beat Kessler?

It was closer and more competitve than I thought it would be, but no way did Oscar win that fight.
