Does anyone have Teofimo "Do I still got it" Lopez beating Stevenson?

Totally agree with this post. Except, the De Los Santos fight. It's easy to suggest that Shakur was afraid, but I didn't see a fear to engage. I more saw him having to really think on how he could be effective and win rounds given that he was fighting with one hand so early in the fight. Everyone watching the fight saw that Shakur refused to throw his left hand with any purpose even when the opening was there. DLS should have been able to capitalize on that yet, he struggled to still find Shakur and when he did manage to get in range, Shakur would throw something that kept him at bay. That's the reason I'm not sold on him 'lacking power' to be effective at 140. I'm currently 185lbs. When Shakur came to the city, he and Crawford sparred 8 rounds at 5 minutes. Shakur also got in with Steve Nelson & Lester Martinez. Not one of those guys suggested that Shakur had no pop to his punches. Lester actually told him the opposite. But that's not Shakur's style to finish his opponents off.

For that I agree, he's going to need to show that to beat the elites and end the notion that he doesn't have power. The think is, he's smart enough to get victories without showcasing power. He's going up against someone who has an IQ and showcases his power early and often. I think this is the fight Shakur needs to open up and be great or we will see him fall short and possibly get stopped.

I don't honest know who to choose in this match up. Every week it changes for me. I just hope that with some of the elites in the sport retiring and aging out that these young guns can bring fireworks and face each other. I hate that we aren't getting the Ortiz/Ennis fight. Tank Davis v Haney/Shakur/Keyshawn/etc fight.

Teo vs Shakur is a great way to start of the year.

 

It's tough because Teo isn't the most consistent fighter. If the right Teo shows up, it's probably 50/50. We'll see.

 

I do respect his focus that he has been showing thus far though. He hasn't been going overboard with the trash talk and he isn't misquoting Bruce Lee and Muhammad Ali trying to sound like he's some philosopher. His dad on the other hand..... I can't think of a father trainer that I wasn't irritated with in the press conferences. Cut their mics off......lol.

 

I am backing Lopez not because I think he is a better boxer than Shakur but he is bigger stronger and far more explosive.
Shakur is used to having a huge size advantage over his opponents and even then he can't put a dent in them and he is scared to get hit by them. Shakur is a good boxer but I think he is fragile I don't think he has what it takes to fight on a level playing field against someone closer to his own size, age and skillset.

 

After seeing the Martin and Ortiz fight I got Shakur. At the end of the fight Lopez will be mad and say Shakur didn’t come to fight

 

Might be one of the ugliest fight of 2026. Postering for 12 rnds waiting for the other guy to blink.

 

If Lopez spent any significant time learning how to cut off the ring he might be able to pull it off. However, since he usually can't and Shakur runs, I see Shakur on his ten speed when he needs to winning a UD.
