Does anyone here believe a prime Holyfield could have beaten a prime Vitali?

I don't know.....but maybe, he's 1 fighter who could have exploited Vitali's technical errors such as leaning back with his hands down to avoid punches, if a competant boxer follows through with left hooks Vitali would be exposed going backwards. Fighting Vitali isn't an easy proposition though

Yes. He beat Bowe, and even past his best he performed well in the Lewis rematch, so of course it's possible, maybe even probable as both Bowe and Lewis were better than Vitali. Yes, I would back Holyfield to outbox and outthink Vitali more often than Vitali would get the better of him. It'd probably have been a great trilogy.

Mismatch, Peak Holy of '90 Buster to '93 Bowe II would dominate Peak Vitali, when boxing or brawling.

I think Holy would win but his tendency to brawl more than he needs to could be his downfall against Vitali.

In a way, I think it might the opposite of his downfall in this one. I think he would get too close for Vitali to set up his mainly outside game and mess him up. However, if Vitali has the ability to keep someone as skilled as Holy from getting inside, that's a much different fight. I don't believe he would. I would pick Holy by decision in this one.

    I...gathered.
