does anyone honestly doubt that technical skills have gotten worse in boxing?

They were all champions in the 80's,

Just because time did'nt stop and they happened to continue their reigns in the 90's, does'nt change that fact.

this is one of the dumbest threads i've seen in a while. there is absolutely no question whatsoever that technical skills are on an incredible slide and at the moment you have maybe a handful of guys that properly learned their crafts and even some of those, like floyd, have yet to even test themselves. you guys need to face the facts that boxers today are by and large, not good. degale is my current number one on my **** list. he is awful. but all the way up to people like tavoris cloud and sergio martinez... these, today, are elite. but you put them in with the black murderers row and they are getting ****ing murdered.

no, the question is whether modern fighters have less technical skills than old timey fighters. Which I pointed out in an impossible to refute manner is a stupid question that shouldn't have to be asked by anyone with an IQ over room temperature. Now people are talking about Evander Holyfield as if he's James Jefferies or Jack Corbett.

nor does the fact that they started in the 80s change the fact that they were the best in the 90s.

These guys from the 40's are so ****in terrible. Even though they got great defense and every punch in the book.

    Pure garbage.

Why in the **** would James Toney and Bernard Hopkins study these guys?

Which proves that the 80's never regressed and was a more talented era.

Joe Louis is the most overrated fighter in history, he was propped up for propaganda reasons all thru WWII. Read up on the 'bum of the month' club, and tell me how many times you think Max Schmeling knocks out Tyson, Lewis or one of the K brothers.

Archie Moore could fight in any era, one of the greatest who ever lived. He would be one of the older fighters like SRR or Armstrong that transcend eras in boxing.

by that logic, we will have to wait till 2020 to see if in fact todays fighters are regressing.

I said according to compubox he did. I don't remember the exact number but it's around that ratio. No, I didn't watch the fight. Mosley is shot and Mora is average. I'm not going to reward the decision to put that fight on PPV by buying it when I can see it on the web or watch it Saturday.

Also, dumbass, I've forgotten more about boxing than you ever knew. ******.
