Haven't you guys figured out why Martinez refuses to even discuss fighting above 160?

The very second he fights above 160 he loses his excuse for not accepting Pavlik's offer for a rematch at 168, or 166, or even as low as 164.

Or because he's not big enough, and is a small Middle happy to move to LMW for a superfight.

    Nice conspiracy though.

He's a 154lber you tool. Kelly refused his rematch clause.

Martinez weighed 170 pounds in his last fight. Same as Taylor, Miranda, Pavlik, and others who were considered "Huge" middleweights. Martinez is not small at 160, and would probably have to cut off an arm to ever get back to 154. Facts trump hypocrisy every time, and those are the facts.

No, IF Pavlik can get his career back on track then he may have a case but as it stands no. Also He's gone up to Super Middle for his bout with Bute, anyone know if he plans on going back down?

:thumbsup Martinez hasn't fought at 154 in two and a half years now and he's making fights with guys like Dzinziruk who should be at 154 at 160 instead. Clearly he's a middleweight.

Pavlik chose not to rematch Martinez, not the other way around...why in the **** would Martinez give two shits about fighting Pavlik again? I mean seriously, not trying to disrespect Kelly, but dude is clearly not on Martinez's level at this point. Why should Martinez have to come up to fight Pavlik, hell he moved up to fight Pavlik the first time FFS.

OR...Kelly can bring his lazy drunk ass back down to 160 to fight the 160 champ. Again, not trying to **** on Kelly, but to act as if Martinez is ducking him, is a silly ****ing argument, when it's Kelly who elected not to take the fight. Furthermore, Kelly needs to be at 160, a division in which he actually carried some power and had some advantages, he's got no chance at being the best at 168. Can you imagine what a guy like Dirrell would do to him...seriously, or Ward, even Froch and possibly Bute? Do you even think he could beat Kessler at this point? Come on Boo, you're better than this bro.

Yes -- he wanted a rematch anywhere from 164-168, but Martinez and diBella would not even discuss it. They know exactly what Kelly went through before the first fight, so naturally they also know that if Kelly comes in healthy, Sergio gets knocked out.

Kelly moved up to give Jermain a rematch, but Martinez does not have the same kind of courage.

i think if pavlik could have stayed comfortably at middleweight he would have kept winning.

I think at this stage in his career, Kelly would be outclassed by Martinez @ 160. We haven't seen if Pavlik's punch has translated into 168 yet, and most likely won't if he goes forward with the Bute fight.

I guess it's up in the air right now, but a rematch at 165 would be something to watch, assuming Bute doesn't ruin him outright.

I'd watch it but there's no reason for it. Martinez completely destroyed him. I don't see how Pavlik will or can do anything different.
