Pathetic Hatton nut suckers hating on Floyd Sr. How predictable. The man gave him a game plan to fight Pacman and he threw it out the window. He was out there with his hands low and jumping face first into power punches. Its nobody but his own damn fault he got KTFO. Good riddance to good rubbish.
whoever is blaming floyd sr is a muppet. the guy did what he could, he created a game plan for ricky, but the stuped **** couldn't follow it for 1 round. lets blame floyd sr when he told ricky to move his head and use faints and not be overly aggressive. but no this is ricky hatton, i'll walk in a straight line with my hands down, the guy was waiting to be knocked out.
I'm sure he had a game plan but Pacman didn't give him a chance to implement it. Ricky and everyone was just too surprised the way Pac came out with hooks. I was very surprised myself from the get go. I told my brother, " he is fighting way different from what I've seen. He's throwing hooks after hooks. He's going for an early knockout." I would have been surprised too. Honestly I think everyone was surprised. This is not the Manny we've seen in the past. Freddie knows hot to engage any opponents, study them, and knows exactly how to neutralize. Don't discredit Ricky for what he tried to do, he did exactly what people expected and wanted him to do, that is to try to overpower Pac from the get go. Ultimately, nothing that Ricky could have could've changed the outcome. He could've decided to box but Pac would've eaten him alive with pecking attacks as well. Like Emmanuel said. "Manny is just a complete fighter." No matter what anyone does, Team Pacquiao has the answer. I give lots of credit to the whole team, not just Pac, as they outright planned what they needed to do and worked perfectly. Same with the DelaHoya fight.
some people refuse to accept reality and like to make excuses for their fighters. Hatton's loss last night had nothing to do with Floyd Mayweather Sr. it had to do with Ricky Hatton having no skills and a fragile Chin.
It's shared blame. As someone said, a good trainer actually trains a fighter, doesn't just tell the fighter stuff that he doesn't learn. Floyd needed to get Ricky to practise whatever he was trying to train him to do. "You should've been listening to me from Day 1." makes me think that he never actually got through to Ricky, he never properly taught him anything because he couldn't manage to communicate it to him. Obviously that's Ricky's fault too, probably more Ricky's fault than Floyd's, but a really reliable trainer would have either trained him, or said that he couldn't when it was apparent that he wasn't doing so.
In both Hatton & Mayweathers defense.. Pacquiao didn't really give them a chance now did he? The angle Pac landed that punch would have Kayoed a Mule wearing headgear.
