he fought a few amateur fights and tried out for the philippine amateur boxing team as a young kid. he wasnt picked. he said he usually fought for small change on every town fiesta in his hometown as a kid.

i had seen some pacquiao fights during his amateur days in a noon time boxing show here in the philippines called ... if you've seen him against ledwaba he looks like that when he was an amateur only much skinnier and with a blond hair. He was very one dimensional but showed a lot of promise. HE was killing people with his left... there were a few fights were in i think he was behind in points but still won because of a KO... the funny thing is that i remembered him because of his name Pacquiao which means something here in the philippines... and its really nice to see how much he have achieved.
