Keep hearing about a backstage incident that got him fired and that his shitty fight was not the nail in the coffin, it was the "incident"
Here's what was rumored to happen during Mayhem Miller's backstage incident. When CB Dollaway did his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Mayhem slowly walked to the back of the Octagon and rested his arms on the top of the cage. His head was hung pretty low, so Mark Munoz and Ryan Parsons consulted him inside the cage. They eventually walked out and Mayhem Miller had an 'incident' before the post-fight medical check-up with one of the staff members working at UFC 146. Apparently when Mayhem walked backstage after the bout, he sat down against a wall, probably reflecting on his fight with CB Dollaway. Someone backstage (not sure if it was MGM or UFC staff) asked Mayhem to 'clear the path' and get out of the corridor. Mayhem either didn't hear him or simply was wrapped-up in his own thoughts to care. The staff member then tried to pat him on the back in order to encourage him to move. It's rumored Mayhem Miller quickly got up, yelled at the staff member and then kicked over a table. A few UFC employees questioned why he did it, and apparently he got in a verbal altercation with them. At the post-fight screening, Mayhem starting yelling at CB regarding the decision and threw an object at him. Dollaway continued to sit down and get checked out by the doctor. Mayhem then went into the locker room, gathered his belongings and left the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The UFC couldn't even contact him for his post-fight quote. Nothing physical happened, just mayhem. It's also apparent that Mayhem Miller was on his way out of the UFC if he lost at UFC 146, this incident didn't cause him being cut from the promotion. i am not too sure i am allowed to post a link to the full article
i heard his ridiculous clothes and boom box in the weigh in didnt help either. He thinks its a circus
Dollaway did lay and pray for ten minutes, and the fight should have been stood up a number of times. Dollaway would have got a yellow card in pride for that ****. As for Miller, he looked like ****, but his knee was injured and he still managed to rock Dollaway with a few big punches. I think he was cut too soon, just bad luck, horrilble showing with Bisbing and then the snoozefest last night. I think one more fight would have been appropriate before booting him.
Yeah, Dollaway fought scared as hell. Total LNP. However, if Miller can't get out of it or try any subs he deserves to lose and if he couldn't because he was injured he should have pulled out since he knew he was facing a wrestler. He's a better fighter than people are saying but he can't keep losing because he's out of shape or injured.
miller really screwed up his career by not pulling out of the fight assuming that his knee was pretty bad even before the match (it really looked like his knee was messed up especially when it looked like he couldn't even push off on it to try and escape). foolish to think he could beat a competent wrestler with a bad wheel and now he's cut and his marketability is way down to the point he's gonna have a long climb at 31
:good Yeah Miller had an awesome platform handed to him, with his first mainstream exposure being a good platform as a TUF coach. But he has really ****ed up a promising career very quickly. :-( I think he literally must have had a panic attack vs Bisping. :conf He can't have been THAT out of shape. He looked like his body just shut down on him, and he could get nothing going at all. It wasn't the shots he was taking, he just looked like he had absolutely zero physical presence. Like he had no strength and no confidence. I didn't see him vs Dolloway, but by the sounds of it he was badly affected by this injury and in a terrible style matchup for a crook knee. And then he threw a temper tantrum, and now he's cut and everyone thinks he's useless, when apparently that's not really true at all. What a shame. :-( :hat
No matter what happens to his fighting career, Miller was immortalised when the Diaz brothers helped him out on the Strikeforce Card of Henderson vs Jake Shields. Not many people can claim to be touched in that way by greatness.
I like Mayhem and I hope he can find a way to rebound and really take things seriously. There is just something thats always been missing with this guy but the skills are there. I hope he can get into Bellator or something like that rebound and he would probably have to back to Strikeforce before the UFC but it would be great to see him make a serious run at some point.
So your problem with Miller is that he didnt have a father figure in his life? atsch Leben didnt have much of a father figure growing up either but he is still a decent gatekeeper
Dana is full of **** for insinuating that this alleged incident had anything to do with Miller being cut. He wanted to cut Miller after the Bisping fight, and he has pretty much made it clear that he doesn't like the guy in the past.
