Hello Scrap, Poor wording on my part. I should have been clearer in my post. I understand the benefits of including running in a boxers training program. I do think running is worth including in a boxers program. As far as I can see the OP is talking about "distance" running as appose to sprint training (which I think is extremely valuable and should certainly be included where possible) However, the average amateur boxer has work / school / family commitments and other sporting interest etc, and may only find the time to train 3-4 times per week for an hour or so and much of this time will be taken up with developing skills (sparring, bag work, pad work, shadow boxing etc) In this case, I think there are better ways (i.e. more specific) to target the same components of fitness that running does, whilst improving other important attributes such as co-ordination, balance, agility and a range of strength components. For the lads who are able to commit more time to their training then I certainly would encourage them to get some miles in. But in the 20 or so spare minutes at the end of a session, I think there are better (more specific) ways to improve conditioning (and co-ordination, agility, balance simultaneously) for the average amateur boxer. I will talk you through the kind of sessions I like to put together when I get chance to get through mate.
Aswell as the benefit of virtually no impact, I would say the next biggest one is surely the ability to alter resistance on the attached bands, to increase/decrease intensity accordingly?
Thats obvious , theres 5 things you wouldnt suspect at 1st glance, unless you have been on it. Its to do with Cardio, Endocrine, Exocrine, CNS, PNS. .
Interestingly the Tests were done with only one strap per leg, the mind Boggles to think what 3 would do .

Yes it is, it goes to Trent uni , well ones already there , for some more tests. Interestingly while on it theres no muscle waste as overground running they say muscle tone and strength increases using the verti. Knew all this to be truthful while Ive used it just by observing. I think the Big one is Trent they have certain equipment which will find the Big question.
Scraps machine is really a one of a kind, to explain everything it does would take a while and it seems theres things goin on that cant currently be explained, in a nut shell it will train all 3 energy systems in a way they havent been trained before while properly correcting posture (very rarerly achieved by stretching alone) while also ceasing the damages caused by impact during exercise and daily locomotion due to bad posture so another words if you have bad posture this is the only way you want to be running or exercising until the postural deviancy h as been corrected in an ideal world
I don't do much running, and usually sprinting when I do. I'm not sure if this is the reason as I do lots of skipping and bag work however my stamina is shocking!
