He's fighting journeymen, which is what people do before they fight contenders. There are those who figure because he is taking a slower path -- due to having like 30 amateur fights -- that he's supposed to skip that stage of his development.
Well then, let's get Evander Holyfield in there next, if he can KO him then he must be an ATG. atsch Nuthuggers.....
I have nothing against him personally...but the fact he has shown ZERO improvement against terrible comp means that he will still only have one punch. Even with a weak HW division, the top guys will nullify his one-punch and he'll get owned for 12 rounds. He has shown no new skills or abilities and relies on a single punch to win. He can win a title but will never be even close to great.
It doesn't matter what I want to happen... Fact of the matter is he's just another hype job whos going to get exposed badly as soon as he steps up.
Are they really? Is that why Wilder wanted nothing to do with Tony Thompson and claimed he couldn't travel abroad for legal reasons when Chisora made him an offer but miraculously could when Haye needed a sparring partner?
People dont fight exclusively against bums in the ams. They are matched against thr best in the world.
Tyson Fury had only six more Amatuer fights than Wilder and yet he is not still fighting hasbeens, journeymen and bums almost five years and almost thirty fights into his pro-career. The issue is not that Wilder has fought journeymen before taking on contenders, its that he continues to fight journeymen and shows no real signs of stepping up his opposition any time soon.
Wilder does not have to fight anyone ranked. Wilder is #3 WBC, #6 WBA and #12 IBF yet he have never fought a ranked fighter. As I said before, Wilder is waiting for Vitali to retire so the WBC will simply give him the WBC title without his fighting anyone, if he does fight it will probably against Sconiers...........there is no incentive for Wilder to fight anyone ranked, so he will not. Wonder if he will dig up the grave of some dead fighter? However, Wilder did beat up a woman, even strangled her! Wilder refused to fight Thompson, Jennings, Arreola, etc. Hell, Wach would knock him out!
Windmiller is A+ when beating up on zombified taxi drivers and the mummified corpses of fighters. Can't wait to see him step up, if he can land those shots on anybody, they'll go down, I just have a suspicion that he's not so sturdy either. Wish him well, he puts people away and I miss that among top flight HWs, but he's not there yet.
Wilder's right hand would not do as much damage on a ranked fight. Wilder could land his right on Wach and it would do nothing at all..............but if Wach landed a punch on Wilder it would be lights out!
Look Wilder started boxing at a very late age. He played basketball most his life and then picked up boxing. The first time he went to a boxing gym was in 2005 and because of his natural athleticism, was able to win bronze in the Olympics. In the professional level, he's clearly not ready to take on title holders and top contenders yet, so they're letting him fight often and give him time to develop. He'd be better off fighting guys who were tougher, but his management seem to be upping the level of his competition now. His next opponent isn't that good, but at least it'll be his fourth fight this year and he can keep improving. Next year is the year that will see him sink or swim
If you want to learn how to shoot pool, you need to play with someone who is good, better than you or you will not learn anything. If Wilder wants to improve, he needs to fight someone ranked. I really don't think Wilder could beat Wach........
