I wouldn’t pick him to but it’s not impossible. Galento hit very hard. Fought dirty. And could take a pretty good punch.

No. Shavers would teach him a lesson the same way Louis and the Baer bros did.

Galento beat up guys he had massive size differences on. He was a weight bullys weight bully. Whenever you doubt the greatness of the 30s LHWs(like some people tend to do) remember that Al Gainer beat this fatty up weighing 167 pounds.

Galento got one lucky shot against Louis. He was never anything more than that(at least not at the elite level). He should have gotten the Shoeless Joe Jackson and Pete Rose treatment for what he did to Lou Nova.

Galento's proclivity to getting hit would hurt him. On the other hand, he fought a lot of rounds as a pro and he won a number of fights in the late rounds.
Shavers could, without doubt, hurt anybody that he hit clean. He also could be hurt by most of the people that hit him clean. And he had some stamina issues because he threw every punch swinging for the fences. .
I would favor Shavers but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see it go the other way.
