So the "We" Jacobs was talking about wasn't him and his team, but was him and Golovkin, working together to get the IBF to change the rule? What did Golovkin have to do with getting the IBF rule changed?

Jacobs elected not to fight for the IBF belt that GGG was defending thereby gaining a weight advantage. The IBF modified its rule for unification fights so that their champion is no longer at a disadvantage.

I like BCS8 but when it comes to his hate for Canelo and love for Golovkin he is willing to lose a bit of integrity.

That describes YOU perfectly IsaL not him or me. The overwhelming majority of boxing people voted GGG kicked Gingers ass but you cannot accept the fact your idol really LOST both fights with GGG & the Lara fight.
The only thing that brought the Trout fight close was that flash knockdown.
At worst scenario Austin deserved a draw

Are you Mexican? I am. I can speak for them, you cannot. You don't know or understand the machismo culture in Mexico.

For some reason many Mexicans get fixated on their idols. You have the Morales fanatics who hate Barrera. You have the Barrera fanatics who hate Marquez. You have the Chavez fanatics who hate De la Hoya. You have the Marquez fanatics who hate Canelo.

Many (not most) Mexicans are very macho and they will always hate on the most famous Mexican athletes, especially if you're a pretty boy like Canelo or Chicharito. Its a strange phenomenom but it is well known to happen. There is even a commom saying in Mexico that says, "Only a Mexican would try to bring down another Mexican".

So you can try to bash Canelo for having haters, but no matter how much you cry, pout, or yell, he is still the Face of boxing in Mexico, the U.S., and in the entire sport of Boxing. This is a fact.

How did the IBF rehydration limit / 2nd day weigh-in cause the IBF Champ to be at a disadvantage in unifications?

What caused the IBF Champ to be at a disadvantage was the challenger, in this case Jacobs, not complying with the rules and coming in over the weight that they agreed to and what the IBF required for Title fights, which give Jacobs a functional weight advantage over the Champ that isn't allowed under IBF rules. Eliminating the same day weigh-in / rehydration limit for unifications makes it so Jacobs, as a challenger, now can bypass the same day weigh-in and still compete for the title with weight advantages where he couldn't before, thus putting GGG, the Champ, who followed the rules, at a greater disadvantage than he was before. Because now he can actually lose the title while his opponent would be allowed to balloon up in weight and still compete for the title.

We've done a good job so far, but since our mop and drying rag is headed for lunch we'll have to wait, unless C.J. volunteers to take your place.

Enjoy your lunch. What are you having?
