You say the beating Cotto took proved something was in Tony's gloves yet what happened in the rematch?? It became De Ja Vu a replica of fight one EXCEPT Tony was blind in one eye from round 2. The Doc knew this Cotto STILL couldnt put him away & Tony started to come on beating his chest just like Fight 1. Cotto was ready to quit he was getting pummeled
That doc saw this stepped in & stopped the fight not to save Tony's eye but to save Cotto the embarrassment of quitting AGAIN!! against a basically one eyed opponent. Look at Cotto's face in its beaten up just think what it would have been like after two more rounds of Tony's punches. Cotto would have quit AGAIN!! for certain

Handwraps are made to fit the hand, to protect the knuckles, and if hardened by a substance that when combined with sweat throughout combat would become hardened on the outside of the wrap. The inside of the wrap would remain softer than the outside, because hands would continue to sweat creating more moisture where the knuckle meets the wrap keeping the inside soft, while the outside would be harder because not as much sweat and all the layers of wrap that the sweat would have to go through.
