Hair follicle tests are biased towards drug retention in dark hair and against drug retention in lighter hair and especially red hair:

"These data demonstrate that the interpretation and reporting of hair test results for codeine are influenced by hair color. After this dosing protocol, the proposed federal guideline cutoff of 200 pg/mg of codeine would result in 100% of subjects with black hair and 50% of subjects with brown hair being reported as positive, and subjects with blond or red hair would be reported as negative. The incorporation of these drugs into hair should be studied carefully in humans to ensure the appropriate interpretation of drug concentrations."

    This is well known.

Canelo doesn't cherry pick opponents, that's a myth. If anything, up until this point, his opponents have been chosen for him, by De La Hoya, by DAZN, etc.

Canelo has more than twice as many wins as Valero. There's no way you can have Valero ahead of Canelo with such a small # of fights. JCC on the other hand had way more fights, over 100 wins but also 6 losses and 2 draws, one of those draws universally considered a gift so really that's 7 losses. Having over 100 wins though really makes it hard for anyone to top JCC. But winning % and # of losses would still have Canelo way ahead of JCC at this point, and Chavez was stopped several times. But with JCC, there's sort of the RJJ factor in that he fought on so long many of those losses came late in his career. If you look at his first 90 matches, 89-0-1, that's unbelievable, so with those numbers and being such a respected boxing icon, having JCC #1 for Mexicans is understandable.

Canelo's involvement in catchweights was not his doing. Unlike Mayweather who specifically himself showcased hypocrisy in criticzing Pac for draining Cotto then he himself playing a direct role in trying to drain Canelo. Cotto then after being drained proceeded to drain MWs including Canelo by defending his title at catchweights. Canelo has never himself done that to any fighter and drained a fighter to get an advantage like Cotto, Mayweather or Pacquiao did. This is a sticking point because this myth that Canelo has done this to gain unfair advantages and should be used against him in comparisons is a complete un-truth, it's backwards for what it actually is as Mayweather, Cotto and Pacquiao should be called out for their catchweights and using their power to gain advantages. You're saying Canelo does, only he doesn't. Each time he's fought at a catchweight or some kind of rehydration clause it was either to the advantage of the his opponent or when he was moving up significantly in weight like when he fought Chavez Jr who was not far removed from being a Middleweight himself and Canelo still ended up giving away a lot of weight. So compared to Mayweather, Cotto and Pacquiao, each of which who used catchweights to weaken opponents or gain an unfair advantage over their opponents in situations where it wasn't justified or approrpriate, Canelo has never done anything like that. If anything Pacquiao and Mayweather should be penalized for what they've done, instead of trying to penalize Canelo for something he hasn't done and let Pacquiao and Mayweather off the hook for what they did in these kinds of comparisons.

Quit pumping Floyd. Floyd fought a green and drained Canelo. You know, before he became Clenelo.

Perfectly stated. The sad thing about this era is, it isn't terrible because the talent is lacking. There are some very talented fighters out there. The problem is, the best don't fight the best. Like I said before, these guys would rather talk about being the best, rather than fight the best.

You're a certified nerd, you're literally trying to argue that hair color somehow casts doubt over Canelo submitting a hair follicle and any remnants of clenbuterol not being detected in it. You're the one believing that clenbuterol was part of his training regime, that in your mind, his prolonged and continual use of clenbuterol was so blatantly obvious that this guy went swimming in a pool of clenbuterol every night. If Canelo was using clenbuterol on a regular basis to the extent that you believe, you would surely be able to detect the overwhelming amount of clenbuterol that would be in his hair follicle over a long period of time that would prove that.

But no, despite your theory that Canelo had been swimming in this stuff, they weren't able to find any residue of clenbuterol whatsoever in his hair follicle. If it's harder to detect a substance in lighter hair, that doesn't make it impossible or testing of a hair follicle a moot point. Even with light hair, you can still be able to detect residue, you just have to use more detailed testing methods due to the lighter hair making it harder to see the residue. If Canelo were using clenbuterol intentionally to get results in the gym over a long period of time, you could detect it in the hair follicile. Further if clenbuterol was used as a masking agent for him to use other drugs, as many claim, then you would certainly be able to find other banned substances in Canelo's hair follicle. If there were real, blatant using of banned substances as many claim, they would at the very least be able find something when testing the hair follicle. They didn't.

Stop being insecure not everything is about PBF and Pac. Canelo is a great fighter and gets alot of hate but he's the truth and the best in the world today. Give the man his due.

Anyone with a pretty record and decent promoter is too busy milking their time and belt while waiting for the biggest money fight available while ignoring most fighters deemed a threat. It's no wonder why fights that would generally be just on regular cable are now seen as PPV events.

Simp C is just a fan of P4P fighters. He doesn't have the balls to openly support working fighters. He likes those who are already champs.

He got "busted" for eating food at a baseball game that had trace amounts of clenbuterol in it, then was randomly tested the next day. That to you means he had to be cycling back on it. Why don't you loosen up you tinfoil hat just a tad so blood can start flowing to your brain once again.

You're argument is that because Canelo has light hair, submitting a hair follicle is pointless and can't be used to exonerate him. But the science behind it still leaves plenty of doubt that substances can still be found in light hair, even if it's harder to find and prove than dark hair. Plenty of people on here made the argument that clenbuterol was merely a masking agent for other harder drugs that Canelo had to be using. When again, if that were the case, then surely they would be able to find some banned substance in his hair follicle, even in a light hair follicle which could be harder to see than in dark hair.

What is your argument then, that Canelo clearly couldn't have tested for clenbuterol due to simple accidental meat contamination because why? Because he has light hair and it's harder to find substance in light hair lol.
