Don't know wot he has done execpt this with hatton can't see wot he brought to the table.
Think he was basically there to boost his own profile and didn't really fit in. Just wondering wot everyone else thinks or if anyone can prove he is worth his salt and prove me wrong

He's a yes man and a hanger on as far as I can tell.

He's a top notch trainer and a decent bloke.

Unfortunately the Mayeathers ego's and their hate of Roach allowed them to deceive Ricky into to thinking Pacman was nothing much. A champion insisting on coming in first what the **** was that (the mayweathers had bellitled his confidence so much he thought he was making his pro debut)

Me thinks Floyd Snr was trying to prove a point to his son.

Not sure how any of the fans on this site qualify to give an impartial answer to this question. Those that have answered have done so with no proof of knowing jack ****.
Hatton has explained several times in interviews what job Beard does in the gym. If you people are so set on discrediting Hatton and anything to do with his set up/career who am I to stop you.

Beard nor Flloyd Snr seemed to be able to get Ricky to change/adapt his style....in fact he was worse than against Flloyd Jnr.....at least there due to the respect he gave Flloyd he didn't really start lunging in until late on..... In this fight he got what he deserved because he didn't respect Pacmans power......and I think Hopkins and Mosley encouraged him before the fight by telling him that Pac had no power at the weight....Just a DLH had said in an interview pre-fight,

Who the **** is he and what has he done?

Where are his credentials...? For training a guy going into the biggest fight of 2009?

He sounded like a complete clown in the lead up to this fight that had no clue about boxing. I'm not convinced anybody on this forum could not have done a better job. I don't see what the point of him was, if you are going to hire a strong personality like Mayweather Sr its time to give him free reign.

i remember first seeing beard around the hatton camp for the lazcano fight doing the pads with hatton and theres a vid of him on pads with hatton it aint what i call top notch from either man this vid must of been pre floyd snr because ricky was bullrushing beard. i heard that beard lived in america or sent his son to america and he trained with floyd snr. i lost time for guy when he try descredit manny and say the defeat was because he just caught ricky with a good shot. don't think he can hack fact manny and freddy did a number on the hitman.

Its very important that a fighter has a certain chemistry with his trainer .. Lee Beard is a guy trying to make his way in the business, he has limited experience but i think Ricky felt comfortable with him being there ..
The real problem is Floyd Mayweather, i dont know why everyone raves about this guy as a trainer, can anybody tell me what his acheivments as a trainer are ?? He says hes the best but whats he actually done ??
Im not being rhetorical, im hoping that guys with better knowledge than me on this forum can tell me who he has trained, what gameplans he's come up with for his fighters in fights and what his true talents are ..
He comes across as a loose cannon to me, always mouthing off, always impersonating Ali, always loving his camera time .. Forget Lee Beard, lets concentrate on Floyd Mayweather, is he really a good trainer or is he the kind of guy thats full of bull**** and just because his son is the best fighter since Leonard, has he made his name on the back of that ..
You can see the influence of Roach on Manny .. Manny has come on leaps and bounds since he was beaten by Morales and schooled by Marquez in that first fight. Roach has made him a 'thinking' fighter and polished him up immeasureably .... Can someone on here name me a guy that Floyd Mayweather snr has had the same impact on .. Lee Beard is an easy scapegoat to me, this defeat is all about the fighter and his trainer Floyd Mayweather ....

    just found this

Lee Beard (born 1975 in Salford, England) is a British boxing trainer. He is most well known for his work as assistant trainer to Ricky Hatton. He is also the trainer of Ricky's younger brother Matthew Hatton. When his trainer died, Beard took over the running of his gym at the age of 27. Beard trained in Taekwondo and kickboxing before becoming a boxing coach.

Beard has worked with Floyd Mayweather Sr. since 2004, and was heavily involved in Mayweather's decision to become the trainer of Ricky Hatton in 2008.[1] Floyd Mayweather Sr. has praised Beard by stating "Me and Lee really see eye to eye. He’s on the right track and it's just a matter of time before he really shows us what he can do. He definitely has what it takes to be at the top."[2]

Beard has a step-son Adrian Gonzalez[3] who began his professional boxing career on the undercard of the Ricky Hatton - Paul Malignaggi fight on 22 November 2008.

So basically he's done nothing. Hatton could have picked any guy out of this forum to do a few pads and make the tea.

Beard was a complete joke when I heard him. He was talking a lot of physical strength, a lot about what Hatton's done in the past, a lot about Manny Pac, but not much in the way of quite HOW Hatton is going to get this job done. At least Mayweather Sr was saying the right things.

agreed. beard seemed to get in front of camera and say ummm a lot and then as you said talk about walking through manny yet according to hatton he a great tactician. he months ago said before the malignaggi fight that there trying to get ricky to refine skills yet before this fight it was just bully pacquiao.

i think they lost fight at weigh in when they saw manny weren't as small as they thought.

mayweather did talk the right fight and hatton never followed i think floyd has to take blame on the padwork error but apart from that hatton and beard have to look at themselves in the corner between round 1-2 beards again talking over mayweather.

watch that vid guys and tell me if you trained a young fighter or any fighter would you allow him to leave his face exposed and lunge in and be constantly square and lack head movement and have terrible hand placements because i wouldn't allow that. im not saying that just beards fault because graham allowed alot of that but i think the guys a little like adam booth but in my opinion booths more knowledgable and has a incline about the do's and don't where as beard seems to have landed on feet and decided that being number two aint enough.

It's way too early to tell. Some people on this thread ripping him to pieces need to relax a little.

Let's give the guy a chance. I'm sure he must have some capabilities for Hatton to take him on, he isn't that stupid surely.

i see what your saying but when you wanna step into the training game and put your self in firing line your going to get shot at. i haven't taken to the guy normally im all for young trainers but theres a element of arrogance i get from guy. maybe he is nice bloke but really his after fight comments were rather stupid it was clear manny caught him with more then just a good shot.
