Does anyone really care about Mayweather vs Cotto?

I don't see much buzz about it in here or on the web. Even Mayweather seems bored with the entire thing.

I think Pac's Leftovers will do quite well against Floyd! This Shot to **** version of Cotto might even get a KO!

If I were a Mayweather fan I would not like it.
Only because, I don't like low reward/high risk fights for my fighters.

    I'd think along these lines:
Mayweather really has to beat Cotto's ass in order for people to not squak "Ha ha!! Pac beat him more convincingly!!"

Pac beat Cotto to that point where there really was no dispute that Pac took it to him the whole fight.
Mayweather slips up just a bit and if Cotto looks slightly better in there than he did against Pac.... Mayweather's bargaining power drops.
People will say: Pac fought better against a younger, healthier, more spry, more whatever Cotto.

That's why I don't like situations like this: low reward/high risk.

Because even a good win will leave the regular fight fan thinking "so what? You SHOULD HAVE done that to him."

Definitely. I think it is a good fight on paper. Cotto is a very good boxer when he wants to be and most people would agree with that. He has his moments when he looks pretty slick but then he fumbles the ball so to speak.

No point bringing up what Mayweather is going to bring to the fight.

No. It's a waste of time. I can't believe people are trying to justify it, the styles all wrong.

p.faulk, I hear your point but I have to disagree on you about Mayweather not having the bargaining power if he does not look as impressive as Pac did when he fought Cotto. Due the different situations of each boxer, Mayweather is in a better situation in that he can call his shots more so than Pac. As we can see, Mayweather can and will continue to make more money than pac regardless of who they each fight.

People tend to forget that boxing is about hitting and not being hit. Every time out, manny gets hit while Mayweather rarely does and when he does it causes a stir in the boxing world of ridiculous claims such as he may be slowing down, he has no legs, or he has no chin.

Manny fought cotto at weight drained weight. Cotto is supposed to be the bigger fighter in this one so if Mayweather does not look himself, it may be possible it's due to the weight and this is not offer an excuse.

Pac is a very good fighter who is one dimensional. He has not been in the ring with anyone who can bang. Honestly, I would love to see him against Zab Judah. Even though Zab is a washed up fighter, he still gives pacman trouble.

Cotto has always had stamina issues. That is a bad trait to have meeting a fighter like Mayweather. I think had not Margarito's eye swelling close I think Tony would have stopped Cotto around round 10.

To answer the question, of course I care. Here we have 2 great boxers who are taking the tests, and who are about to make at least 30 million$. Does anyone know what Pac is getting for Bradley? LOL, he took 15 or 20 million rather than the 40 offered by Mayweather. Come on, you don't find something wrong with the Pca camp and Bob arum?
