I just wouldn't have had the nerve to pick up the issue that month...wouldn't have been worth it for all the funny looks the newsagent would've given me.

Lalonde was a former Hockey pro who broke his collarbone so bad he needed years of corrective surgery to fix it, the scar was still there in the fight.. Lalonde was a super skilled fighter , who was gutsy and he threw a mean right hand of his own, He had jest established himself as a decent wbc champ and had beaten some serious fighters and was only avoiding 1 (Moorer) at the time WBO champ.. I remember Lalonde flattening Leonard , it was like seeing Bambi shot at point blank range.. Leonrd showed his teeeth in that 9th round and made quite a mess of The blonde boy.. It was indeed a superfight at the time... i have the poster right here, it was ledgendary..

Leonard was lying through his teeth. I mean, seriously...

Another fight where Ray made demands and got his way. I don't regard Ray as a five division titleist like say, Hearns is.
I always had respect for Lalonde...decent fighter, but that aside he worked extensively with abused children as he was abused as a child too. I respect that.

Yes , Donny gave a lot of his purse to his own charity ..

(TNEFCA) There's no excuse for Child abuse..

I remember that.. Donny was a very hard puncher , i saw him stage a nice comeback at cruiserweight in the 90's.......
