Haye is the only one who should blame himself.

Bull****. You picked Archie Moore because, out of the thousands of title fights in the last 50 years, its one of the very few times where the challenger took next to nothing.

Why do yout think the "winner takes all" fights that fighters claim they'll take never happen? Because pro boxers are realistic to know there a chance of them losing and they arn't willing to fight for free.

So we KNOW that Wlad would have given Haye the extra money out of his own pocket? Pure conjecture. Haye wasn't getting paid so he ditched the fight, yes he probably lied but I (and most reasonable people who are not judging this on whether they like/ dislike one particular fighter) can understand why he did what he did.

At least you can admit that your boy lied...even if you are blindly loyal to him.

You're way off the mark. I'm not even a Haye fan, let alone being "blindly loyal". This isn't a "Haye vs. Wlad" thing for me, I'm just discussing the issue of people expecting a professional boxer to fight for nothing.

I don't blame Haye for pulling out just like I don't blame Wladimir for not waiting for Haye and taking Chagaev instead. Both fighters actions are perfectly understandable in the circumstances, liking or disliking either boxer has nothing to do with it. Its just common sense.

You know what , thats a pretty good point. I would have hoped that Haye being a bit more marketable than Brewster and Sanders would have gone on to make the division more attractive to (lets be honest ,the US market) but maybe thats national bias on my part. I still reckon Haye was/ is worthy of a straight crack at the belt but you do make a fair point. :think

...Are people really saying Haye should've fought for what might've been for free?

Listen essentially getting punched in the head for 12 rounds by a powerful guy like Wlad Klitschko isn't something you do for free.

Depends on Hayes deal with GBP. Usually the fighters are given an allowance for these things. the fighter himself doesnt pay for it

He pulled due to fears he would KTFO and would have no future paydays.

Wlad or Vitali right now would kill him in 2 rounds...

Sorry to the Brit posters but this is a fact.

Beating Barrett and getting decked in the process (as usual) by a fighter Wlad destroyed 5 years ago and has had 5 years of punches on his head proves you are no top10 legit challenge!

Other than he has been decked by much lesser fighters lower down frequently. He is a nobody apart from the tshirts and the gate receipts.

What do you want him to say to hype the fight Chef? "I think I'll win but I'm not 100% sure"?

Come on, this is a simple as part of the funding falling through for a fight and it getting cancelled/ postponed.

People who think Haye should have fought for nothing are just living in cloud cuckoo land. Pro fighters don't fight for free.

    Last time I checked,2000-2008 is 8 years,not 5 stupid ****

Slight contradiction in that Wladimir was decked by a lesser opponent in Purrity-somebody who would go on to record 20 odd losses.Or do you have that poor an opinion of Wlad that you wouldn't call Purrity a lesser fighter?:huhWhich one is it?

But like I said before, Haye should have have been more proffessional and talked to Wlad to save that fight. I think they could have worked something out. Hell Wlad was going to wait the 3-5 weeks. I know he would have helped with the money issue
