Does anyone seriously see Dawson going to Cardiff and beating Calzaghe?

I rate Chad a lot. He has shown he has some great tools and can be a lethal boxer. I see him occupying himself in the top 5 p4p list in the future.

He has passed the prospect stage but he is still a work in progress for mine, and has a few more things to learn.

I think Chad would be Calzaghe's toughest test out there aside from a Kessler rematch. But I think he might be mentally frail somewhat for now, and can see Calzaghe putting him off his game in front on a hostile Cardiff crowd.

A fight in the US would probably give Chad a better chance, though it would still be a tough ask imo.

I think Chad should let this one go, as both parties would be excused for bypassing this matchup as one is on the outer and looking for a big money fight, while the other is on the way up and should be looking to slowly progress.

Imo, going from a narrow win over Johnson not so long ago, to fighting Calzaghe in Wales is too big an ask for Chad.

I think he should take the fight if offered. Chances like this don't come along too often, and he has a shot at winning. Calzaghe is also getting older, while his stock is peaking -- it has risen since fighting well-known American veterans in Hopkins and Jones.

Yes, Chad Dawson might lose, since Calzaghe is very good -- I, however, don't see how this is a reason not to take the fight. He has more to gain than he has to lose.

Nor do I. Dawson is nowhere near Calzaghe's class. He's only being touted by Americans clutching at straws now that Lacy,Taylor and Pavlik have all been exposed

Apparently to americans, Lacy was the next tyson,
Now Dawson is the next light heavyweight king,
If he fights calzaghe, Joe will kick his ass just like lacys and there will be no argument that calzaghe is the best lhw.

you'd slobber over osama bin laden's nuts if he put on some gloves and wrapped himself in the union flag.

    dawson is for real.

I think this fight makes sense. Dawson has nothing to loose (apart from his IBF?? title) and everything to gain - $$$ and recognition (from most) as the number 1 in the division.

Calzaghe has the chance to make $$$ in front of his own supporters (for possibly the last time) win the IBF alphabet title and enhance his legacy.

    Dumb dumb dumb.

Calzaghe has yet to face a prime 175 pound fighter.

Hopkins fight was at 170 and Hopkins isn't in his prime anymore and is still more of a middleweight.

    Jones- shot.

I believe that a Calzaghe win over Dawson wont be appreciated straight away, same as his win against Kessler wasnt.

In years to come, victories against Kessler and Dawson will look much better. But as far as saying that this would be a big money fight for Calzaghe, I disagree. I think he will sell out Cardiff even if he were to fight Zelanoff, and even if he were to fight someone like Johnson, ect, HBO would probably still get on board.

At this point in time, Dawson doesnt bring much money to the table, but it will be appreciated more in years to come.

No it's not dumb, Calzaghe would easily beat dawson,
And hopkins is not more of a middleweight he has settled at lhw due to him having packed on more muscle, he would have to seriously loose a lot of muscle to get down to middleweight,
    Imbicile.
