I see this fight as a win/win. calzaghe gains two light heavyweight betls, gets to fight in front of his home crowd and gives a farewell performance and gains credibility fighting another top notch, real lightweight opponent.

Dawson, even if he loses gains valuable world experience, figths a great figher in calzaghe and gets a great payday and gets his name more recognized.

Does He have a shot? you better bet your ass he does. Chad at this point is FAR faster than RJJ, if Joe thinks hes gonna clown him with his face out like he did old man jones chad will land those shots. Chad also has a good work rate, good combination punching, good footwork and respectable power.

I think he absolutely has a chance and I will wager he wins a minimum of 4 rounds. This could be an exciting fight of 2 guys who throw punches! I cant imagine why anyone wouldnt want to see it.

I just think it's too tough an ask for him at present.

It's not a fight that Dawson is in need of either, so he can be excused for not taking it.

I think he's moving along nicely as it is. He's slowly raising the bar and he's going with it too. Going to Cardiff and beating Calzaghe is a significant step up, and I'm not sure he can do it at this point in time.

An uneccessary risk fight for him imo. Let him develop more, sort out a few *****s he might have in his armour, then he can find some defining fights later on in his career.

I see him decisioning Joe in the USA.

In front of 40,000 Welsh, it would be harder and it might be gut check time for Dawson.

If he does it, it will be very close, and I can see the judges in the UK doing Dawson no favours for Joe's retirement fight.

Agreed with one post here about Dawson's weaknesses.

Right now, Calzaghe presents not only a style match-up but solid experience advantage and probably a mental edge, which Dawson, at this point, IMO might not cope up with.

His fight with Johnson was telling.

Dawson is a live opponent and a competitive fight definitely. WHO has Joe ever beaten that is better? Kessler: possibly. An Old Hopkins who he beat on stamina, and work rate: possibly.

It's not like Joe has beaten a long list of names better then this Dawson. It's a live fight, with Joe starting out the favourite.... but Dawson has a chance.

Chad Dawson should take the fight. If he loses so what? Calzaghe would retire so either way he is still the best at light heavyweight. If he wins, well, you are talking being considered the best boxer in the world. Its win win honestly.

chad wins this going away. Joe knows better than to take this fight. Yeah, maybe Johnson. Almost had him out but chad would go into this fight with absolutely no respect for joe.

Johnson is a bigger puncher than Joe, but Calzaghe has the all-round skillset that neither Chad or Glen possess.

That would be the telling factor in this encounter.

Calzaghe clear UD 117-111, either here or in the US.
