wilder would not have been knocked out against Povetkin back in 2015. Wilder’s handlers knew what they were doing dodging that bout.

There does seem to be a lot more strength to that claim now but Fury is far better than Povetkin was in 2015 so that`s a little unfair to Wilder, who probably would have performed even worse v Fury back in 2015, Fury was far better against Wlad than Povetkin was and it wasn`t just because of the age thing I feel.

I’m not sure this version of Fury is better than the Povetkin that fought Wlad but styles make fights. Povetkin attacks and turns his defense into offense better than Fury and hits harder. But you make valid points. I always felt Povetkin was bad matchup for Wilder. Was disappointed that fight didn’t happen. At least now the division has interest.

Chagaev was a good pro and good amateur. With a good resume. No shame in not stopping him.

Povetkin would have knocked out Wilder and probably still would if he were to fight him .

Even the Povetkin that AJ fought would've sparked him out cold. I said it at the time and I stand by it now. So would the Wlad AJ fought too.

Povetkin sends Wilder to sleep. It's obvious after seeing both the AJ and Wilder-Fury fights. If Povetkin can land devastating hooks on AJ, then he can land them PROPERLY on Deonkey. Wilder couldn't hold off a defensive fighter in Fury or a slightly aggressive fighter in Ortiz, so how on earth is he going to survive an extremely aggressive Povetkin? He'll be all over Wilder like a rash. Deonkey is average at best at managing distance, something AJ was able to succeed relatively well at against Povetkin. He kept Povetkin at distance so he could avoid those deadly hooks for the most part.

Povetkin gets up close to Deontay, make no mistake...IT IS GAME OVER. Wilder will be on the canvas, WITHOUT DOUBT. Povetkin within 4 or 5 for me. Easy work.

Same Chagaev who blasted out Pianeta in a round in 15 and Fury laboured to a decision against in 18?

Since when was Povetkin a 6'9 inch tall southpaw?

He managed to hit AJ at will because he has no head movement and is a big stiff.

Wilder would send Povetkin straight to the morgue.

Ortiz hits just as hard as Povetkin and couldn't knock him down.

Wilder is the only heavyweight that hasn't hit the canvas at highest level.

Povetkin in 15 deals with Wilder. Maybe not now but still competitive.

Povetkin would of been a bad style for wilder who doesnt box enough and is trying to look for the big one, doesnt have a strength or weight advantage.

Povetkin is nothing like Fury, so Saturday night doesn’t change anything. Would look similar to the Joshua fight, Pov has success early on before Wilder finds him with the right hand. Might even find that punch quicker than Joshua did.

I had Povetkin a slight favorite back when they were supposed to fight in '16. That said, the official odds made Wilder a slight favorite. And Vegas generally knows how to set odds.

At this point, in retrospect, I think Wilder would have won. Wilder's resume is better than Povetkins at this point, and to the eye test, I think Wilder wins. Sasha would be a live underdog, I don't dispute it, but to say the passage of time makes Wilder look less likely to beat Povetkin just isn't being realistic. The Wilder hate really gets to be a bit much on here sometimes.

Yes he was losing for sure, now he probs get a win but back in 2015 he was pretty **** tbh...

There was no drug issue only a massive ruse to get Wilder out of losing most likely by a highlight reel ko.....

Would have to go down as the biggest duck in history, even Lucas Browne went and got a belt from that area of the world....
