To answer the question, yes I and many others still care and I don't see how you can't.
The division isn't super deep at the moment and he is still a good opponent for anyone.

I personally think Pacquiao vs Mayweather is still the best fight out there. Everyone is wanting Alvarez lately but really, people would say that he really hasn't done anything if Mayweather beat him and they'd be right. He beat Trout (good name on a resume) but he took a lot of rounds off, looked gassed and only needed to finish the fight on his feet to win. People only want him because of size, they hope and pray for a hail mary punch.

Unfortunately it comes down to perception too many times in boxing. Alvarez just won, is considered #1 at 154, has an 0 = best opponent. Pacquiao just lost, KO'd = **** fight.

Mayweather has probably beaten a ton of Canelo's in sparring and in the ring, but I bet he's never even seen a style like Pac's before. Pacquiao has an awkward style, speed in his hands and feet, decent pop, can fight at a higher pace, and fights harder when the going gets tough. He isn't going to start headbutting or touching gloves, he won't blow his wod in two rounds, and he isn't prone to being clinched. Pac looks sloppy to some people because he isn't always textbook but that's what makes an interesting fight sometimes. Like Hamed, Jones Jr, Calzaghe, Vitali etc etc.

There is seriously nobody out there at the moment besides something ridiculous like Quillin for FM to fight that is better matchup then MP.

At least he's watching the best example of an exceptional boxer that there is, as a casual fan.

As long as Manny still has his legs from Marquez 4, I agree.

I'll most likely watch his fight against Rios. Should be interesting, but it's just a good fight among many other good fights for me.

Ever since he switched religions he got soft.

Now his wife is vice governor...u gotta be kidding me.

Here's the thing. I like him because he sued loudmouth mayweather and won. Dont let that ******* make a dime off your nam and fortune.

She actually won? I remember that 24/7 when they asked her what she would do in office if she won, she responded with a CLUELESS expression. She didn't even know it was a real job.

If you don't care about manny you are not a real boxing fan.

Same goes for floyd or any other top boxer.

    :deal

It will be a sad day for boxing when both those legends quit - or even worse, continue fighting when they are shadows of their former self (Pacquiao has 1 more chance IMO to prove he still has it)...for me, that applies to both Mayweather and Pacquiao - too many idiot haters on here

Boxing needs a strong Pacquiao and strong Mayweather

Matters what you term as a real boxing fan. Some guys love boxing and still don't follow the top guys. I have met guys who own boxing gyms and they stick to small local fight cards, and yet you ask them about the big fighters and they don't know much about who they are fighting or anything like that, but ask them about local fights and contenders and they know, and they know about amateur fighters. When I lived in California many years ago (now I am in Texas), I would see the youngest Goossen brother at amateur shows, and at some local fight cards I would see ( I forget his name a little )I think his name was Jesse Reid, or maybe that was his son, but he was a big guy in the local fight scene, but if you asked these guys about the top guys like Hearns or Hagler or Whitaker, they of course knew them, but they were so busy with the smaller fighters they really didn't know much about who those guys were fighting. Not like Emanuel Steward or Lou Duva at the time.

I feel like a huge % of fans missed out on what will be remembered as one of the greatest runs in Boxing History by Mannny Pac since his loss to Morales. Because they were so blinded by hate due to there love of floyd mayweather.
