When it was first talked about I thought Burns had a good chance. Broner isn't what they make him out to be, but he's clearly improving though, so nowadays I'd have him strong favourite.

I can remember on this forum, everyone said Broner was **** i.e. just a crude puncher right after he stopped Jason Litzau, now he is the second coming.

Seriously, in the last couple of fights, I havent noticed anyone claim they think Burns would beat Broner. Burns would be able to land on him, different levels, skill wise.

When a boxer comes across a better boxer he has to push a come forward fight plan. Donaire v Rigo is the most apt topical example. Do you honestly think Burns can beat Broner by pumping a jab on the outside? Broner eats those guys for breakfast.

The only guys that gave Broner problems (or beat him imo) were guys that pushed pressure on him while slipping punches getting off a punch and tying him up.

But they will have more footage with broner and will know not to rush in as he is a very accurate counter puncher. You would hope they could devise a better game plan based on more information on the opponent.

Not saying burns beats broner btw but it's a totally different fight. The one thing burns proved tonight is that he is world class in chin and heart departments

Broner would win a one sided UD or a late stoppage. And I hate Broner. Burns was getting virtually dismantled before that strange and abrupt ending tonight.

Hopefully but i only saw one gameplan toinght and it wasnt working to well. I would have expected them to change it up a bit more in say round 4 or 5 but they didnt.

I thought Burns would beat Broner I have to admit. Everyone is entitled to an off night and Ricky was awful tonight. He had no plan B and just looked very basic in every department. Not sure if Harrison is doing bird or not as I've been pished the last few days but if he isn't then I suspect he will be in line for a payday come sept.

If anyone thinks he has a prayer with Broner, get your tongue out of Billy Nelsons arse hole... He wont hurt you for being honest. I hate Broner, but Burns is simply not elite.

Flat performance and IF he fights like that even 1 or 2 more times then that's it for Burns...

Credit to Gonzales, obviously a cagy defensive & offensive boxer, Ricky still proved his strength & determination, but far too one dimentional to continue like that, that will be the end of him.

I'm not sure if Gonzales lost the will to go on because he had just about used it all up, or did he give up knowing his wrist was broke and knew he'd be ineffective from there on(?).

IF it was the broken wrist then I think Burns might just have lost this one. As to Broner, Burns knows he'll have to show much more and I feel he can, and easily enough. No great worry, but his next outing will determine if he does!

The exact same would happen as it did tonight, but it would end in Burns getting stopped

never tot he could beat broner tonight just showed how far off that level that burns is and cant see him holding on to that title much longer if he takes fights with world level opponents ,, dont get me wrong he has a good chin and a bit of power but not enough to beat broner or vazquez the blueprint is there how to frustrate him and make him look poor

Billy is gonna have a heart attack when he reads these threads in the morning like.

I love how everyone is now saying what I was saying months and months ago and getting hounded for.

Unfortunately I DO KSAB like many on this forum. Thats not being arrogant.

If your so small minded to think nobody on this forum does, then - :-(

There is a lot of knowledgeable boxing fans on this forum. :deal

If he fought like this then Broner would win a points decision by a significant margin. That said, I don't think he'll fight like that again and, as styles make fights, Burns has the tools to trouble Broner. He would still need perfect preperation and home advantage to even come close.
