Hello everyone i often wonder if some of the huge beasts in strongman could make the grade in boxing . I know some of the guys are to slow and fat sounds a bit like me. But some are absoulute genetic freaks most seem to have thick looking heads and big necks and the collassal strength must help i suspect that phil phestner the man who was worlds strongest man in 2006 had the ideal genes and the work ethic to be a fighter. Also that magnus samuelson might of made a good fighter. What do the people on east side boxing think i am just intrested i fought myself in the amuetars and am a enclopodia of the sport but think them big guys could suprisre alot of people if they put on gloves.

To the top level? I dont think so. Usualy strongmans are too slow for the top level boxer.
But they could beat some club fighters like Buterbean has done

From what I can gather, despite their obvious strength, it seems their stamina is very very poor.

he's not talking about your average powerlifter but competitors in the worlds strongest man competition. Those guys have amazing stamina. I don't think that they'd make great boxers but in mma a guy like Mariusz Pudzianowski with even a few months training would be lethal.

Mariusz Pudzianowski would be pretty good I recon. He boxed for 8 years in Poland as an amatuer I heard, I've also seen clips of him shadow box and he looks pretty handy.

Probably not. They'd be too bulky and slow from their muscles.

Hell no! Those big bulky muscle types are not suited for boxing. They would be done after 2 rounds.

I think they'd get outpointed pretty badly. Probably would be hard to KO one of them though, because of their huge heads/necks.

They would be reaching for an oxygen mask by the middle of the 2nd.

Now Toughman competitiors. Thats another story. Many of these guys would be like the iron men of the ring in the earlier half of the century.

    Nopes definitely not.

These strong man people doesn't have the stamina to train long needed by a fighter.

Second their muscle are trained to give full burst of energy in just a very short period of time.

Three they are muscle bound and too slow to throw a punch and dock incoming punches.

He quit boxing cos he "didnt like being hit in the face". I think he was pretty good, was on his way to olympic trials.
