    ....win?

The more I think about this, I think Taylor wins this one comfortably. He may have a few shaky moments, as he tends to lose focus at times, but I think he wins this.

Haven't read to many threads on this and was wondering what the prevailing opinions were here at ESB.

Do most people also see Taylor winning this? Something like 117-111?

Or are any of you giving Lacy a real chance, and perhaps, even expecting him to win?

    Thoughts?

Nah....expect Taylor to win a fairly close UD(116-112,115-113) using one punch at a time and his jab.

You think it will be that close even?

I just can't help thinking that Taylor is still a man who was able to win rounds against guys like Hopkins and Winky. I know this will be his first time at 168, so maybe he will not be as comfortable there, but I tend to believe the weight will be a non-issue, and even though Taylor isn't the most intelligent (and perhaps, now, not even the most confident) fighter, his raw athleticism and overall skills should see him winning more rounds.

Perhaps I am selling Lacy short. Either way, I'm very interested in seeing this. I kinda forgot about it.

I also pick Taylor by UD. A close mediocre fight is what I'm expecting...loser goes home for a long time!

I expect Jermain to, well, Lacy poor old Jeff. However I put a few Vbucks on Jeff in the hope that the left hooks lands flush, I know it's never going to happen though and I like Jermain so will be happy whoever wins.

Yeah, even that close,Taylor ain't that special now and he has lost his last 2(one by KO) and is coming up in weight. But offcourse Lacy will find a way to lose, this is a nonwinnable fight for him.

lacy v mandoza was worerying for the taylor fight if you are a lacy fan.

mendoza is tall and lanky and has ok pop if allowed to use it .

peter manfredo was taylor made for the old lacy to blow out of there impressivley and he squeaked by.

i simply do not see the optimisum for lacy.

he would have to turn black the clock 3 years and show some form and power.

his rotator cuff injury looks to have robbed him off any power and clazaghe sapped his self beleif.

taylor of the first 10 rounds of the pavlik 2 fight sweeps the board.

i think lacy is one of those boxers like riddick bowe who has a very short peak and burnt out very quick.

taylor because he does not take as many punches as lacy has more left and will win decisvely.

on the minus side taylors defense is his offense and lacy will get a chance, just can he pull the trigger and does he have any snap on his punches anymore.

from what i seen his punches were slow/telegraphed and heavy, but not snappy like taylor can throw and lacy used to throw.

    taylor wide for me.

I tend to agree with this in full.

Thanks for the input, sean. Always interesting to read what you have to say.

I can only see Taylor winning this one, Lacy has the power to worry Taylor though. It could be closer than I originally thought

If Lacy couldn't even beat Peter Girlfredo convincingly, how is he going to compete with Taylor? That said, I'm rooting for Lacy!

I have stated before, and I will state again, Taylor is grossly overrated, and even though Lacy may not be what he was, he will beat a guy who has made his rep eaking out narrow "victtories" over aging greats and guys coming up from lower weights.

Unless Lacy is COMPLETELY depleted, he will win.

You honestly believe taylor's close decisions vs superstars of the game were worse than lacys last 3 decisions of the journeymen of the game???

Just wondering. Cuz that seems like ur argument.

I actually think Taylor is going to FINALLY get a TKO/KO - after so many fights where he couldn't pull one off.

He is one of the biggest under-achievers in modern boxing, and I'm thinking that Lacy is the perfect target for him to get a long-awaited stoppage and maybe get him on the winning track again.

Taylor has such great natural talent, and great potential, that I really hope he can turn it around and start doing what he is capable of.
