PAC is a hybrid brawler. He isn't a master boxer, but he is much more than a boxer. If you look at the caliber of opponents he has fought, mostly all of them are brawler and get drawn into his game. Marquez is the best boxer he has faught which is why he can't get by him.

He's past his best now, but he is far from an unskilled brawler. Even if he did lose to Marquez [I had him losing], he was extremely competitive against a fellow ATG fighter who has the perfect style to nullify Pacquiao's strengths. He is clearly in the top 2 fighters in the world, and he is being held to a higher standard than others are because of the manner in which he has torn through greats of the sport in years gone by.

Every great fighter looks average against opponents who have the style to nullify them. Ali looked terrible against Norton, Robinson looked like a lesser fighter against guys like Basilio or Fullmer on several occasions [except the famous KO vs. Fullmer], even Roberto Duran was humiliated against a lesser - but still great - fighter in Hearns [yes, I'm aware of the size difference], Douglas against Tyson.

And one can easily point out a single fight where a fighter looked very limited and mediocre despite getting the win [deservedly or not], i.e. Ali against Doug Jones, Trinidad against De La Hoya, Chavez against Whitaker [draw].

like your paragraph two and three examples..however some will argue that JMM is Mannys Achilles heel or that JMM is the first real threat Manny fought in a while

it is clear that JMM is just a bad match up style wise but it can be said that he was also a much better boxer than Mannys last few even if he is poison style wise or not

Possibly true, Manny fought some fighters well past their best, but he still deserves accolades for beating those bigger guys so convincingly. As for Marquez, he certainly looked better than most of those guys did on fight night, but you could also argue that's because he is made to look good by the style advantage. Nevertheless, it was simply a case of two great fighters who will always be hard to split. Pacquiao is and always will be the better fighter, despite being more flawed, but Marquez is just one of those guys who gives a greater fighter fits.

i think its gonna take a small man to beat Manny

When Floyd moved up to welter everyone said Baldy or Oscar or this or that guy because they are bigger and stronger but Floyd had so many intangibles that negate power and size

I always thought Floyd wouldnt lose to the brawler when everyone said a guy who mauls and resembles Castillo i said put him in with a guy like Cory spinks a fast counter puncher who throws very little and wont give Floyd openings

Manny is just too damn fast for these big men they have no idea how to time him

I think smaller guys with some speed like Khan and Bradley and Alexander would be able to deal with the speed

however those guys probably have no chance but they would certainly put up better fights than Clottey and Shane and Cotto and Margarito

but that is a testament to Manny that he beats elite guys and we can say well they never had a chance and that only a select couple can really even trouble him

thats why Manny and Floyd must fight they are the only guys who you really cant flat out know who wins

No he is a very good offensive only boxer puncher, who if presented against an offensive fighter will actually show some very good counter punching ability.... Granite Chin, a lot of heart, blazing speed, great power... I know I sound like a ******* but I like me some PAC too lol

People like to say Marquez has got Pacquiao's number. Well the door swings both ways, Pacquiao's also got Marquez number and they have been even in three fights thus far. Neither fighter has given the other lessons on boxing or out boxed the other. Pacquiao's record and performance speaks for itself as far as his skills are concerned.

Pacquiao's style used to be that of an unfocused swarmmer, but he has learned patients and come to the realization that it is better to study his opponent and development a fight plan. When he steps in the ring today against an opponent his attach is focused and balanced.

Many people look at his last pperformance against Marquez as disappointing, but the truth is he fought his game by staying on the outside and out pointing Marquez to come away with a win. He did not look as pretty as Mayweather did and got nearly as much as he dished out, but he did out score Marquez to win the fight. Against Marquez takes a hell of a lot of boxing skill to do.

Nobody's going to make more GIFs (few of which exist for Pac's offense as well) just to help your ******ed self deal with the fact that a vast majority of viewers thought Marquez won the fight, and that all you need is a good unbiased pair of eyes to watch the fight from 1-12. Don't you get tired of defending Pacquiao online? For what purpose? The sport of boxing existed before-and will continue to exist-Manny Pacquiao and his sometimes incompetent fanbase.

Hell no. I don't really consider him a boxer puncher though. I think if him more as a swarmer.
