Does anyone think that Mundine vs Geale is going to be announced soon?

A non title fight would be pathetic and a sure sign of fear. I think we will get this fight and Australia will be humbled.

I have no doubt if they do meet the belts will be on the line. But Mundine has done nothing to warrant him fighting for these titles. So to put them on the line only detracts from the credibility of the bout. Particularly when the match-up is all about money and very little else.

There is definately two sides to this. I hear what lads are saying about a title holder should put his title on the line every time they fight but also agree with Spider about Mundine not deserving the shot and detracting from the cred of the bout.

Then Geale shouldn't accept the bout... It's pretty simple really, Mundine aint a mandatory, Geale doesn't have to fight him, but if he choses to for money or revenge then he should have the titles on the line :good

Mckart and Alverez were not good fighters but they were not complete jobbers either. Mundine looked good in both bouts IMO he is a live dog against Geale...

In days gone by it would be a non-title bout as Mundine has simply done nothing to warrant a challenge at the titles. These days anything is possible.

I'm not pushing Mundines barrow here but let's look at the facts:

Mundine beat Geale once before for the IBO title at middleweight.
Mundine has beaten Sam Soliman 3 out of 3 fights.

People believe Soliman v Geale is legit as Soliman is the mandatory but Mundine fighting for the belt is a joke :think

All this mandatory crap is just that....crap, it's people paying off organisation to make the top 15....... It's like that Aussie bum who fight Trout for the belt that time, do people honestly believe he deserved it because they gifted him a top 15 spot :patsch

Noone believes a Soliman fight is legit, as he was gifted the position by Ray Wheatly. Youre right about ppl paying off orgs for positions etc. Yeah i dont know how Loporto got a shot at Trout, but frank is no bum, he was just in the right place at the right time.

Why would he?? Its high risk no reward without a title, He already beat Geale... So why would he want to fight him again without a title involved?

Rematch ordered By the IBO as decision was dodgy (no surprise there), he chose not to and handed back the belt. Many ppl calling for re-match, as would generate big$$$. Mundine is sitting pretty, so yep high risk for little reward, as he would get beat. If it was a clear win, fair enough. But it was a clear rip, so why not fight and solidfy the win? He wouldnt, so Geale moved on, won titles and did things Mundine couldnt. Now Mundine wants to fight him. So why should it be for titles he didnt earn? Daniel took the hard road, he didnt. So on Geales account, and as you say, big risk for little return, in putting up the titles.

Mundine doesnt deserve the shot. But Geale and the Grange deserve the payday.

Non title fight, winner gets the glory.
