Does anyone think Vargas will beat Mayorga? How?

Mayorga was gassed early in his 160 debut, and will tire sooner in this one. I'm not sure if Vargas has the handspeed and stamina to get him out, but Mayorga will be there for the taking at around the 8th round

I am not saying I am right...I am just trying to distill the best case for Vargas...and you helped me do it.:good

    So, to recap:

    1. Vargas has had a good training camp and his weight loss will not affect his performance
    2. He will not be weight-drained so he will have strength and his shots will have power
    3. He is motivated because it's his last fight
    4. He is by far the more talented and flexible fighter
    5. He will have stamina to last him 12 rounds
    6. He will outbox Mayorga for a good stretch
    7. In a brawl, he will get the better of Mayorga because he will fight close in and will fire short hard shots to the body, not allowing Mayorga's wide, slow haymakers to make an impact
    8 Vargas is younger

    9. Mayorga's chin is not better
    10. Mayorga will not last for 12 rounds, stamina wise...
    11. Mayorga doesn't hit harder and he is not faster

Is the above the best case scenario for Vargas? Is there anything more to add?

I agree that he will tire...but I think so will Vargas...I think Mayorga will let him outbox him for a couple of rounds and then, once Vargas is more tired, he will turn it into a brawl before he gasses himself. No?

dont know if i agree with 9 but for the most part i could see all of those, *if turn out true* turning out to mean vargas says farewell on a victory.

I honestly think this fight will suck. I can see Mayorga flying at Vargas early and Vargas holding. Then I figure both will tire out from wrestling and it will turn into jab and grab, with Mayorga firing wild shots every now and then

Not anywhere near worth 50 bucks

If Vargas outboxes him for 3-4 rounds before they start hugging each other, Vargas will win a UD...question is...won't one of them fall accidentally in the hugging brawl?

I think eventually, Vargas will be drawn in into this brawl...and then...it's do or die...battle of the chins a la Bika v. Codrington...

I think that if Vargas beats Mayorga, and Castillejo beats the winner of Sturm-Griffin, Vargas will go back to MW and challenge Castillejo.
