Did Darchinyan stand a chance against Mijares?

 

of course he does.

 

A lot of upsets last year and currently Mosley beat Marg....You'll never know...

 

I think he will be competitive before being stopped.

 

Arce has excellent power, especially the left hook to the body. He also has a long arms, surprised many fighters who estimated the punches to miss. Even if faded, he ripped most of his last opponents' body badly, so that's not a punch Darchinyan would like to taste.

Of course Vic is the clear favorite, and rightfully so, he showed excellent defense, timing and accuracy vs. Mijares, and if you look at his fights, as bad as he looked vs. two Filipinos, as good he was vs. Mexicans, their style suits him very well.

But Arce is absolutely stands a chance. He scored a big body shot KO vs. Rojas behind on the scorecards, so you can never count out this brawling genious. That makes this fight so interesting.

 

Good post agreed,I also saw recently that Arce had somewhat of a succes at boxing more(particularly early with Concepcion).And his bodywork is A class always.

 

I think a brawl would favor Arce. He's very good on the inside, busy and mixing it up, while Vic's style is moving in from distance and landing shorter combos. Also, Arce has the better chin, so Vic should control the distance like he did vs. Mijares, he looked very good in that.

 

Arce has the punch to change the fight at any moment.

 

i think Vics gonna stop him, Arce gets hit way too much, and Vics power is more then enough to hurt him, even if Arce is tough....i just can't see him winning this fight, not to mention the fact that Vic's a southpaw, and we all saw the problems Mijares gave Vic

does he stand a chance? sure......but not a very good one in my opinion

 

Arce has very good power himself. Vic's power is VERY Good but only when he has distance between him and his opponent. Vics power comes at the end of his shots. on the inside I favor Arce. His punches are techically better, shorter and crisper in close. Vic sounds like he doesn't respect that as he didn't with Nonito. I see an upset even though I think Arce should be favored considering the style match up between these two guys. If Vic doens't keep space and box like he did with Mijares.....look for a KO on the inside from Arce.

 

I am going with my homeboy arce. Darchynian has not fought a skilled brawler like arce before. Most his big victories are over boxers and I don't think he will handle the pressure. I think this fight will be won by arce if he still has something left and comes in ready to pressure and take s hard shot or two.

 

ofcourse. but i believe darchinyan will win
