Does beating Cotto or Lemieux do anything for Golovkin's legacy?

Fans care more about legacy than fighters do, fighters care about legacy only when it falls in line with lining their wallet. They will take money over legacy any day, which in lies the problem with Ward. He is more legacy than money, which in lies the problem with three G fans. Three G constantly shows that he is about risk/reward just like anyone else but their naïve has them thinking he's a legacy guy.

Right now, beating Cotto does as he has the lineal belt. Lemeiux is obviously not ready next for GGG. That fight needs to build - i.e. Lemeiuux gets another win or two against a top MW or another belt and it could be a PPV next summer.

You act like super middle is some great division filled with legacy enhancers  the divisions got ~one~, with the half retired ward that fights once a year... and the only other super middle worth the time (froch ) g has already challenged.

Sorry but fighting groves... aa... and smith aint all that much better then canelo, cotto, lemieux, and continuing to notch title defenses.

So, DeGale pretty much you rating him by his AM pedigree, and the fact he has a title?

His resume isnt better either, unless you are rating Dirrell via his AM pedigree.

The only guys at SMW with resumes or accomplishments of "Legacy" value, the way you talk about Legacy anyhow, are Froch and Ward.

Beating Cotto would mean beating the LINEAL MW CHAMP, so it would be huge for his legacy... unforunaly the hater on here will call Cotto then a past prime bum who should have better retired years ago and will ask when GGG is fighting a live contender.. thats how it goes :deal
