So do you have an idea why he refuses to fight him then ? Usyk-kabayel would be a huge blockbuster , a very interesting fight which would generate a massive legacy boost for usyk and fill the stadion with spectators .

I have said it several times before - Usyk vs Kabayel is the one heavyweight fight I'd be most interested in seeing right now. I believe Kabayel is the most interesting fight out there for Usyk right now, and I would absolutely love to see it come together. That being said, I see no concrete evidence that Usyk is avoiding this fight, none whatsoever. What are you basing this on?

Furthermore, I don't believe Kabayel has the popularity/star power that a wouldbe fight between the two would neccessarily result in this being a huge blockbuster.

Again I ask, what are you basing this on? The idea that Usyk is ducking Kabayel? Or that he's "refusing to fight him"?

Bigshot openly says whatever he can against Usyk. Fact is, this isn't hard to figure out. In the hierarchy of mando's, WBO is due, WBC will be next, so Kabayal's name is not in Usyk's mouth yet. Warren has openly said that Usyk is now negotiating for Wardley, which is as it should be. I hope Kabayel is next.

Basicly on the simple fact that kabayel would immediately agree to this fight when usyk is willing to face him . This fight would make it to riyadh as the biggest show currently available . I,m not saying he is ducking , it might be the wrong word , but he obviously manouvers around this massive possible event .

To be fair to @Bigshot, it took a long time for Usyk to acknowledge his WBO mandatory as a potential opponent. Even then he seemed to prefer an AJ/Fury/Chisora rematch.

Hell, some people here were trying to justify a Jake Paul/Pereira fight.

To me as long as he fights someone in the top ten that is NOT a rematch I'll be happy.

I believe this is all correct or according to Google it is

Usyk fought three-belt unified king AJ who was ranked #1 by The Ring

Had to rematch AJ who was ranked #2 by The Ring

Fought his mandatory Dubois who was the WBA interim champ

Fought WBC champ Belly who was ranked #1 by The Ring for undisputed

Rematched Belly who was ranked #1 by The Ring

Fought Dubois who was the IBF champion for undisputed again who was ranked #2 by The Ring

Kabayel was ranked at #5 by The Ring as of 31-12-2024 and he beat Big Bang on 22-2-2025 who was #4 as of 31-12-2024

He's currently ranked #3 by The Ring which is his highest ever ranking

He didn't become WBC mandatory until after beating Sanchez in May 2024 and he didn't become interim champ until beating Big Bang in Feb 2025

Dubois became the WBA interim champ and Usyk's mandatory in June 2022

    I hope he isnt.

It's hard to accuse Usyk of ducking anyone when he could justifiably retire. But, if he is to continue fighting he should continue to make defences against legitimate contenders and Kebab is ahead in the queue of Wardley IMO. Yet, the Wardley fight seems much more likely to happen right now.

D'oh, yeah. You're right. For some reason I read it as "Would losing affect Usyk's legacy?".

Wouldn't Germany want to see their man fight for undisputed? When's the last time Germany had a HW champ? Max Schmeling? Kabayel has a real chance against Usyk. More than Wardley, more than Parker, more than (god knows why) Fury again. You'd think German boxing fans would go absolutely nuts for this fight.

Of course, I'm not German, so what do I know. Any Germans on the forum? Can you provide some insight? Is Kabayel big there? If Kabayel were American, he'd have a big following. He's boring in front of a mic, but he's about as exciting as it gets in the ring. You pay to see him fight, you're getting your money's worth.

It took from July to October. It seemed like a long time to us because we wanted the Parker fight, but it wasn't.

I still wouldn't mind seeing a Parker fight at all by the way. He should knock off Okolie or someone comparable and get back in line.

Yes , i,m from germany . Of course many things written here are the ususal nonsense .

Germans love sports and boxing is very popular. When a fight kabayel-usyk in germany would be announced on main stream media , newspapers etc , you can be sure everybody in germany will watch this fight .

Kabayel has kurdish blood but nevertheless the population would see him as a german . He was born in germany , lives in the vicinity of düsseldorf his entire life and has a german nationality .

Even the klitschkos , not born in germany and never holding the german nationality were seen as "germans" . Kabayel is in any case WAY more german than klitschkos ever were.

So of course a fight usyk-kabayel in germany would burst any previous fights .

The problem : i do not believe usyk will ever face kabayel . Not in germany , not in uk , not in ukraine because there is a real risk for usyk to get the ukrainian colours punched into his liver and ribs , especially when kabayel fights in his own country .

Not saying usyk looses , but it would be the most dangerous fight usyk can currently choose .

How can you claim a decision that isn't yours to make is a "simple fact"?

Because its indeed a simple fact that kabayel is willing to fight usyk anytime and anywhere but usyk seems to be not .
