Does Benitez belong in the fab 4?

I think he does, the only reason he's not is because all of the fab 4 fought each other and Benitez never fought Hagler. That's obviously not his fault, he didn't fight at MW until his well past prime comeback. At his best, he was the best defensively out of all these men.

 

He belongs in the same group as Hagler, Hearns, Duran and Leonard

 

That along is enough to earn him a spot in that group to make it the Fab 5.....

Let's talk about this instead of who looked cutest at the weigh in.

 

Beat Duran, gave Hearns a really good fight (the staredown was epic) gave Leonard a good fight (until the cut), excellent defensive fighter, youungest world champion ever, 3 time world champ in 3 divisions by age 23. Yeah, he belongs

 

And the Duran fight is a top 5 defensive performance of all time for me.

Yea Benitez belongs. Tho Duran was in a slump he was a fatass by that point having lost to Benitez and Laing having to lose 35+ pounds to make weight. Benitez and Laing in brilliant shape. Benitez being youngest champ ever great accomplishment and skill was undeniable.

 

I have no problem calling it the fab 5. He never had the longevity of the others, but similar to Tyson, he peaked at a young age and was finished at a young age.
