Mayweather has the clear edge in defensive, footwork, footspeed, ring generalship, adaptability, accuracy, and counter punching ability.

I'm with you also. I love his raw talents. He's got it all. He just needs to utilize it properly. What i also like about him is his maturity and dedication. He has his eyes set on greatness. He ain't no Zab Judah. A guy with talents without the mental make up.

I look forward to see what he does. I expect great things.

You got me there, I didn't read carefully enough (fighting later on). But Berto is what he is, in my honest opinion. He's never going to have the skill, defense, or technical game to beat Floyd - unless its a half dozen years from now and Mayweather is completely shot. I just don't think Berto is going to progress into "that" kind of fighter (top p4p material)

Berto has no power, he's just fast and he's not as fast as PBF ...

Berto is the number 1 contender to Floyd's WBC title !!

Berto would get crushed now and in the future ... he takes too many shots.

He would get pummeled by someone on the elite level ...

Berto would be star struck against Floyd, that's who he masters his style after and he looks up to the guy.

Even if he matures as a fighter it would take alot for him to make the proper adjustment, get in the right conditioning, get better defensively, and develop some kinda head and shoulder movement.

i hate when ppl bring up that flash knock-down that happened to berto in the cosme fight as a meauring stick for why he wont be very good or great fighter, it was the same **** when cotto got knock down by torres everybody said he was too flawed and that he would get sonned by the top contenders but cotto has since gone on to beat 3 fighters ranked in the top 10 in the 147 division. SO WHY CANT BERTO ALSO BECOME SUCCESSFUL THE WAY MIGUEL HAS BEEN??

I think some of you are being way too harsh on Berto. The kid has only 21 fights under his belt and is only 25. He can improve on his defense and footwork. He can learn not to be so aggressive and put himself into harms way and box from the outside more. But his raw talents are about as good as anyone. And when you have that, you always have a chance at greatness. Plus, he's got the right mental make up.

Berto doesn't hit hard enough ... he's not strong like a Cotto or a Mosley or a DLH ... he has to break his guys down somewhat the way that Juan Diaz does.

I like him as a young up and comer though

Thank you, I believe damn near every fighter has been knockdown, besides Floyd and thats still debatable. It doesn't matter if you get knockdown, it what you do after the knockdown. I believe that is why people love Tito, because he only got more aggresive after the knockdown besides the Hopkins fight

I think Berto can be very successful ... I pointed out the knockdown because it shouldn't have happened ... he opened up on Rivera with his hands down trying to be on some slick **** and got rocked.

Cotto has been hurt too many times including his last fight against Mosley where late in the fight he was on wobbly legs.

I would like to see him fight the winner of Quintana v Williams ... he has a regional belt and he's defended it a couple times - I believe.

He's in line for a title shot very soon.
