I can see it either way.

The fact is that Bivol beat a smaller man who is largely a media creation. Yes, it is the biggest marquee win in the sport, but in reality, it is just a good win.

Usyk-Joshua much bigger in reality, because Usyk was moving up, a lot of people said it was not possible for him to do, and he went to Joshua's backyard to do it. It was a very real hostile takeover.

Super props to both men, though.

Got to add as honorable mentions Inoue-Donaire (because of the result and Donaire's revived prestige), Beterbiev-Gvozdyk, and even though is long in the tooth and Fury is "retired," Fury-Wladdy.

Usyk has it but Bivol’s win is probably the most enjoyable. Seeing the ginger hulk PED cheat get dominated was a real pleasure.

Bivol has as an opportunity to do something more significant. If he drops to 168 and beats Canelo again, taking away his belts, he has the rare chance to take out the garbage and clean up some of the corruption that is polluting pro boxing. He might need a 12-0 victory to get a split decision in that fight but he would be ridding the boxing world of a cancer.

If Bivol takes the fight, he should insist on open judging and make them reveal their scores after every round. Also, his team should insist on an honest ref, do their research. Even with these measures it will be difficult but from a skill standpoint, he’s on a different level than Canelo and I have no doubt he would dominate the fight. He might need a KO to get another win over the king of corruption and his rotten team. Worth it.

    I think it's Usyk though

Usyk was smaller man outboxing a bigger man.
Bivol was the bigger man (in every sense) outboxing the smaller man.

Bivol's win was very good for boxing as a whole though.

Since the topic turned mostly into a “Bivol vs Usyk” discussion, I just think Bivol won the bigger name.

Ruiz win over AJ bigger than Usyk win over AJ.

Lopez win over Lomachenko was bigger.

Kambosos win over Lopez was big.
Catterall deserved big win with Taylor

Yes, no win in recent memory was as significant. He beat the actual face of boxing.................and make no mistake about it, Canelo was the face of boxing..................he still is even after this.

Fury beating Wlad in 2015 was the biggest win in modern boxing

Canelo, Crawfish & the rest of them are too busy jerking themselves off yet will be forgotten. Canelo got smacked about by anyone who came to win and wasn't overmatched.

& when Fury tucks Usyk into bed and kisses his forehead gently at the end of the year the world will yet again resonate the name of the gypsy king.

No Kovalev does by far. He beat a prime Andre Ward. And yes IDGAF what the corrupt cards said.

Not quite. It seemed like at least half of this forum would have had Bivol picked if we knew judging were fair. Most people picked Canelo by robbery. All the hardcore fans (except Eddie Hearn I guess LOL) knew how good Bivol was and how overrated Canelo is.

    Massive win though.
