A better chance than Sonnen had.

Small chance but Bonnar DOES have a chance. If Silva does have a weakness it would be his takedown defense and Bonnar on top of anybody is not good for the fighter on the buttom. Bonnar has a good size advantage and his Jiujitsu is no joke and id say his BJJ game is overall slightly better then Silva's. Plus you count out a guy like Bonnar who isnt going to fold mentally. Bonnar is very tough, always confident, and has nothing to lose.

I can understand making a fight like this on short notice and needing to sell it for pay-per-views. But it's hilarious how they're hyping up a fight with Silva's least competitive opponent in recent years and trying to make it sound like something else.

Ha ha, "either a spectacular knockout....or a historic upset". What an understatement. Just a polite way of saying "Bonnar's only chance of winning is by complete fluke, but in all likelihood he'll get KO'd - because between Butterbean, Charlie Zelenoff and Stephen Bonnar, Bonnar was the best we could do".

I thought they were being shockingly realistic with the marketing, actually. Running commercials that highlight Silva only, with no mention of Bonnar. The promotional video with Forrest giving advice. In fact, I thought that they were playing the 'no chance in hell' angle a little bit too hard.

just don't see Bonnar getting layed out by Stann
Leben has a very good chin
but not a great one like Stephen
    Anderson will win
    by UD or sub
    not by KO

Has Bonnar been confirmed to have shown up at the arena yet? If so, that may have been his first strategic mistake of the night. :yep

If Bonnar makes the fight ugly, closes the distance well, and can continually get a clinch; he has a very good chance. This fight may not warrant pay per view, but it is not a gimmie fight for Silva. This is a tough fight style wise.

    :good

If Bonnar fights smart and well, and Anderson takes a while to get into his groove, it could get interesting. If he stands there and waits for Anderson to **** him up, that's exactly what will happen. If he makes it a dirty, messy fight, that's where Bonnar is at his best.

He's currently trying to figure out how to shove a gun in his shorts and shoot Anderson without getting caught.
