After Calzaghe defeated Hopkins, an army of ESB-posters claimed that Hopkins Did The Cleaner Work. The same pattern repeated itself after Froch defeated Dirrell, and also after he defeated Johnson. And now, surprise, surprise, after Wlad defeated Haye, I have read posts that suggests Haye landed the better shots, and all Wlad did was impressing the judges by throwing grazing jabs all night. What is the opinion here on ESB? Is there a serious case to be made out of the concept that Haye Did The Cleaner Work :think It might be unclassy of me to bring out the race card, but in three out of four cases The Cleaner Work-argument was brought up after a Brit defeated an American, and in all four cases it was a black boxer losing to a white. A coinsidence? :huh
No. And I've not heard anyone here making the claim, either. Even the most die-hard and loyal Haye followers were embarrassed by their man and admitted he lost to a far superior fighter.
He probably landed the best shot of the night, but no. Wild swinging overhand rights don't count as clean punching in anyones book. And no, I haven't heard anyone who wasn't trolling say that he won. Or did the cleaner work. It wasn't a case of Wlad winning through superior workrate, Wlad won because Haye had a **** gameplan, and because Wlad outclassed him.
