Does boxing need better analysts?

i agree we need decent analysts but the one you mention are a no go.

Naz: have you ever heard the **** he speaks when they interview him when he is at the big fights? i heard enough of him during his boxing career and he didn't speak that much sense then.

Benn: i have respect for benn but i don't think he would come across that well on tv week after week (imo) whenever i have heard him speak about fighters he seems to judge them on how he did things

Eubank: i think he would be the best of the three you mentioned but he has a love him or hate him image.

i thought jamie moore came across well when he was on sky a couple of weeks ago and would like to see more of him.

 

When you say 'better', do you mean more popular?

 

Using the example of Shearer on MOTD, better known doesn't necessarily mean better commentary.

the problem with the top top boxers is they all have major egos.

I like the fact sky are using guys like Oliver, Moore and some others alongside the regulars.

 

I think Sky have quite a mixed bunch which makes for interesting comments which generate some good debates...:nut

Although it's time that some new blood in the pundits chairs were given more air time... Introducing Jamie Moore is great, I like Spencer Oliver, we don't see enough of him in my opinion...:yep

I would like to see Big Enzo and Steve Bunce... Hopefully one day Sky will do the right thing and get Buncey on and get the show interactive like the good old days on Setanta...:deal

Personally, I'd like to see Barry McGuigan doing a bit more analysis these days.

 

Mcguigan is good and fairly well known... What about Frank Bruno does anyone think he'd be any good?

 

Eubank would be slower than Merchant in getting his point across. He'd just go off on one and try to relate everything to his own career and experiences

 

I'm happy with Sky's efforts this year, their punditry for the most part has been good not perfect but hell nothing is and I can think of plenty of shows that have far worse coverage then Sky do with Boxing.

i'm quite happy with the nelsons,olivers and moore's input at the moment,but i do think that we would benefit from different commentators though.from what i've heard lennox does a good job in america.

 

Eubank is a non starter he just takes to long to get his points over.
