The closer fight, the more I confused. I wanted Sultan to win first, but now I'm not sure that his win will do boxing any good. He just does not look and feel like a champ that boxing needs. Wlad, on contrary, as close to dominant, icon heavy champ as it gets. So what do you guy think?

Boxing or the division anyhow may be better off with Sultan winning as he's stated that he wants all the belts....so this I would say is GREAT...however Wlad will be coming to fight and convince fans like myself of his superiority...Both are great champions and it will be a great fight

i think so. I dont like sultan i must admit i just dont like his style or the fact he looks like someone ud meet in a bar. IF Wlad wins everyone its a unification of sort against a decent opponent. Hes beating the best out there Brewster, Brock, Peter, Sultan no else comes close to that level if he could then beat Ruslan Chagaev than there could be no arguments that Wlad is Number 1 at the moment and by a long way.

Boxing will survive with or without any of the Boxers out there.

Boxing doesn't need Klitchko to win - but it would help.

The Heavyweight Division is what most Casual Boxing Fans are really into. So if we have a dominate Champion that is recongized by all - it will only help the Sport.

Boxing always thrives when the Heavyweight Division is doing good. Look at when we had a recongized Champion - Lewis - Holyfield - Tyson - Ali. Boxing is at it's best when the Heavyweight Division is doing well.

I don't know if it really matters to tell you the truth. The current heavyweight picture doesn't look very good to begin with, and even Wladimir klitschko who is the concensus best has lost to Sanders, purity and Brewster, not to mention looked average against Sam Peter. My guess is that what boxing really needs is a young undefeated entity to come in and unify. I don't necessarily think that Ibragimov is that man, but perhaps Povetkin will show promise.

Good points, however I'm not so sure I agree that Klitschko is just hitting his prime now. He is 32 years old, and has nearly 12 years of a career behind him. I don't think he's getting any better, nor has improved much in the last two years or so. Yes, it was good that he avenged the Brewster loss, but Lamon had only fought once within a two year period, and that one fight was a loss. The time for Klitschko to avenge his defeat to Brewster should have been 6 months-1 year following the first fight, and not 3 years after the fact. His recent winning streak over the last 3 years, is what I would call decent, but not spectacular. He's fighting on average two times per year and has mainly beaten past prime fighters, or men who were never very good to begin with. In fact, the only one of Wlad's most recent opponents who was both in his prime and showing any promise was Sam Peter, and he managed to floor Wlad and take him the distance. Notice, we have yet to see a rematch. I do agree that this era gets nailed a bit too hard for being a weak one, but there is some degree of merit in these criticisms. you have a 39 year old Oleg maskaev who has lost 5 times in his career and hasn't defended in 15 months. You've got Wlad Klitschko who has for the most part ( but not exclusively ) beaten mediocre opposition in his most recent fights. There is Ruslan Chagaev who does not have that many fights for his age and who's health and future is questionable. The only two good young fighters that I see are Peter and Povetkin, and they are still question marks in my opinion.

This guy is dominant these days. Whenever I see the guy I can't believe he's the same guy who got knocked out hardcore by Sanders, lost the other 2 disastrously. His wind wasn't that good, his chin sucked so bad.
Suddenly though he comes back, and you cannot tell he has a crappy chin, his wind is good, his jabs are amazing, and once he gets done jabbing the **** out of you he's gonna knock you out. For a heavyweight this guy has it all...Speed, power, endurance, takes a punch (or knows how now), etc. One of the best overall heavyweights I've seen in quite a while.

As for somebody to lead the HW division...It's a shame his brother had to get hurt. If he hadn't I think he'd have unified the belts by now.

Nah boxing dont need Klitschko. I dont think being over 6 ft and having a 6 pack makes you an icon. Wlad is a weak champ, and is a matter of time before he is beaten again imo, im not sure ibragimov is the man to do it, but it is still only a matter of time.

what the heavyweight division needs is a heavyweight unifcation turney, where the best fight the best, and we have one recognizable champion. Nobody knows who the world champion is right now!

I'm sick of these ****ing mugs with alphabetti spaghetti belts. One unified champ and let all the dross beat lumps out of each other to decide who gets a shot at the champ.

A unified champion with severe punching power and a shaky chin? Smells like money to me.

Boxing definitely needs Klitchko to win.
