Although his KO ratio does not indicate it, does he have power? You would think just by looking at his physique, the answer would be yes, but watching him fight, it's a bit more deceptive than most think in my opinion, in fact I think it's the main reason why Bradley made it to the final bell (barely), and Prodonikov didn't stop Badley. I'm talking about the work that Bradley did to the body and Prodonikov's lack of body work. Bradley landed some vicious body shots which did hurt the Russian, and maybe, just maybe slowed him down enough to take some steam of the bombs Prodonikov landed. On the other hand Prodonkov appeared to be purely head hunting throughout the fight, and was landing effectively, but probably could have stopped Bradley had he done more body work. I guess what I'm trying to say is Bradley may not have a lot of power, but he does have EFFECTIVE power. Thoughts.
he often trades punching with power for a small ineffective flurry. and by a small ineffective flurry i mean like 5-10 pitty pat slap boxing shots
@Hecho En Mexico Didn't mean to butcher your name, but I agree he's more of a volume puncher, but in his last 2 fights he's proven to be a pretty good body puncher, I actually think it saved him in this fight.
When he sits down on his shots I think his power is good, i mean he isnt going to knock somebody cold but his body punches definitely do damage, his uppercuts moved Provs head, and in round 9 he loaded up on a big over hand right a punch he nailed Alexander with a few times I think his problem is he flurries a lot but when he sits down he can stop a guy dead in his tracks but as far as welterweights go his power is pretty tame even at 140 he wasnt a true hitter he is at a disadvantage in power for most of his fights, if he changed his style his power might improve but its probably not worth the risk
I think we outta see him a few more times, I mean I think he does have power not monsterous power not just enough to keep you honest he can put your ass on that canvas deal is he has been fighting top notch fighters Peterson,Witter,Abregu,Pacquiao those are very tuff guys not easy to put on their asses. He also uses Grant gloves, which if you hadnt noticed he didnt use them with Ruslan but I think Ruslan has a solid beard lets see how he looks in a few more fights if he is using those reyes gloves again. I also think the Campbell fight and the Alexander fight Bradley was on his way to stopping both before they quit which would raise his Kayo ratio about 10% had he got both stoppages.
@Bazooka I agree with your assessment of Bradley. I don't don't think you beat the guys he has, without respectable power. I do think when he flurries and goes for speed, what power he does have diminishes greatly. But again, his fights with PAC and Ruslan, he landed some very hard body shots that were telling to both fighters, especially Ruslan.
He's fought guys like Cherry, Alexander, Peterson, Abregu, Pacquiao... guys who have power aren't even supposed/expected to knock out.
When he goes the body, his punches are sharp and compact. His jab is good, but he slaps with almost every other punch.
I think maybe panics there was a gif where it looked like he was patting Ruslan, also maybe he is two small for 147, I always hear about Rios power but that's at 140 and he comes in the ring in the 150s and was landing flush on Alvarado, Ruslan-Rios makes so much sense but I bet it won't happen
@Southpawjab I agree, he is a much more effective body puncher, than he is up top. What's weird to me is, how can he have such good leverage a power when he punches to the body, yet it does not translate when he goes up top? One thing I have notice about him is, he has a tendency to slap with his punches up top, especially when throwing flurries, yet when he goes to the body, he really turns his wrist, weird.
