Does brain damage impact strategy in the ring?

I don't think anyone "lets" anyone else beat them in the head. I do think that many guys are never taught how, or never bother to learn how to draw leads, slip, close distance and counter. So they figure that being willing to take punches is their best road to being able to exchange punches.
