    Considering his last "big" fight was against Vitali, and he only cleared $25K, I find it very unlikely he's worth 10 mil today.

    Think about it. You're a washed up contender looking at 30-40 years of doing who knows what to make ends meet, and you have a chance to talk yourself into one last significant payday by clever marketing. And, who knows, maybe lightening strikes and you score an upset and make even MORE money. Wouldn't you take it?

    People forget that this the JOB of these athletes, and they are looking to drain every last dollar out of their careers before they absolutely cannot participate in the game anymore.

    I really get that, but that's not the issue here.
    The question is, if he's really worth $10M, why would he be chasing fights? And the answer is; he wouldn't be, but he probably isn't worth even 1/50th that amount today.

    I don't doubt that for a minute. Of course he isn't worth ten mil - but he wants to get a little closer with this campaign.

    I think it's actually quite creative, and my own view is that as a tuneup or voluntary defense, there are worse fighters that could get the shot - and have!

    Wlad thought he was going to end his run undefeated. He got exactly what he deserved after years and years of foul subjugation over the division .
