I was never sold on Mitchell LOL even though he was being pushed HARD I never thought he could sell ANYTHING! I dont like his antics either but I understand why he does them and I think its time fans acknowledge that there have been plenty of good and great fighters who have never really become stars and so they (and us fans) have lost out. You know Roy Jones Jr, Winky Wright, Aaron Pryor even Marquez would have fallen into this category had he not had Pacquiao. Either way he has emerged fast and the only other people I can see being big stars are Khan (and he is one punch from his career being over) and Canelo and Im not convinced he is the real deal anyway. Who else is there?
Thats pretty good IMO Donaire Nishioka and Alvarado Rios total did 5K in Los ANGELES.... so I'd say that's a good number for Broner being the Main Attraction.
As much hate as he has already, yes. He'll definitely exceed Cotto totals. Pacquiao and Mayweather have cult like following. I'm not sure if Broner can exceed them, but maybe.
He needs something to make him. Pac and PBF used ODLH. I don't think he has the cross over appeal like ODLH or Tyson did. But once he gets help I think he will follow the PBF playbook to maintain it (play the bad guy and maximize his match-ups).
That's exactly why he's going to get paid if he keeps winning. How many casual fans who buy Mayweather's PPVs do you hear talking about Floyd's defensive skills? Most tune in because they think he's a loudmouthed ***** and want to see him get KO'd. In this era of boxing, a black American fighter who tries to be a nice guy isn't ever going to sell anything.
It's extremely difficult to become a PPV fighter. He needs to continue winning, find the right opponents, create a female fanbase, & fight often
I come here about every day and most of the guys Broner is facing, I never really heard of them before the fight. Broner is obviously good. And obviously a guy that doesnt draw respect. Will he draw fans and PPV by doing so? I doubt it. He needs some big names on his resume.
The two divas will get smacked before they ever become huge ppv stars.Maybe canela but this princess will falter just like chavez jr he's no Marquez.
Broner is not a TV star. He needs to get more exposure against name opponents. Floyd one his title off Hernandez a well known mexican champion. He beat up Deigo Corrales a p4p rated KO artist that was well known. Then he made a bunch of smart bussiness decisions like challanging ARturo Gatti a proven box office draw....only then did he become a PPV star. Broner has a long way to go. But if you look at his record none of the guys on it would fit the Mayweather blue print. He'll get there but I don't think he's as close as he thinks he is. Canelo's the next generations golden child. Not broner at this moment.
