There have been many fighters in history who had great speed but weren't great fighters. Speed is a talent but if not nurtured correctly it means nothing. The way Lee punched wouldn't finish fighters today thus his speed was not nurtured correctly.

Wow! People were in awe of Foreman lifting Joe Frazier-all 210 lbs of him-off his feet, with a right hook.

But,Bruce Lee could generate so much more power, even with the bone-structure of a featherweight!!!! George was a featherfisted bum compared to any REAL Martial Artist!
As the years go on,I appreciate more and more how Bruce forswore a far more lucrative career in heavyweight boxing,to star in C-Grade Kung Fu films.Much respect!

Also, according to James Coburn,Bruce Lee once hit a 500(sic) lb heavybag so hard it hit the ceiling and exploded...
I would have loved to have seen that!!!! :nut:nut:think

It is only ignorant, jealous scumbags like ,Bruce Lee trained,Joe Lewis, who say this is laughable bull****.I ,though, would assume a successful Hollywood film star is far more truthful, intelligent and in touch with reality than any competitive fighter and so called expert.
I am not a gullible idiot like most posters on Eastside Boxing, you know!!!!

From all the fighters Ive seen, nobody looks as fast as Bruce Lee.

It would be great if Lee were alive today to compete in MMA, then we would see if he really was the best ever fighter, somehow I doubt it but he might be the best in his weight class.

Imagine Bruce Lee v BJ Penn, who wouldnt pay thru the ass to see that ?

There are some eye-witnesses who said, that Bruce Lee was very fast. For example Jesse Glover (his first student) and Chuck Norris who was a karateka of world class.

Real speed, real fights, moving opponents, and this is just a short sample, I am not even including pure kickboxers who are even faster, or boxers who have even faster hands. I'll save that for the next post.

I will also try and keep it to lighter fighters, so GSP, Manhoef, and Anderson Silva will not be needed, although they would alone prove the point.

Real speed can only be measured against a real opponent, as most of speed is timing, these FIGHTERS have real speed, not speed against a dead bag.

    Jens Pulver
    [yt]E2gstPe3Im4[/yt]

Kid Yamamoto, not even a striker by trade
    [yt]F48Fxnu3Jek[/yt]

The point has been proven, this is real speed, in real situations, by real fighters, with punches, kicks, and takedowns coming back at them, and they have true power behind them.

Now as for other athletes. At this point its not about some deep hatred for bruce, its about letting people see some great athletes with great speed.

Go ahead, be wrong, there are worse things to be wrong about, think lee was faster, doesn't bother me(ok, it does a little:lol:) but admire these men, these are great videos.
