Bute is definitely a live opponent, possibly stronger than Degale. Bute bodyshots is his key to winning. Degale great the 1rst half, looks like he fades down the stretch. Very good boxer, hard to outbox, like Dirrell, but he can be pressured and outworked like Groves did to him. Bute had a helluva body shot.

Bute better dig deep down for this one! He literally has to bring his A game and have his confidence up fully by utilizing the home crowd and everything else. Bute's been around the block, this isn't his first rodeo.

No, but it could be his last.

(not that I believe that fully, just sounded like the cool, and cliche thing to say).

You're very right. Everything seems lined up for Degale to take the win and continue in a splendid career. Bute understands all this and he's not underestimating the situation. I hope he pulls the upset and wins!

Bute doesn't have it anymore his ability to take a punch is diminished it ended with Froch. Degale should have his way with him.

No don't do it. DeGale will catch him with one of his looping hooks and will send him into oblivion.

He looked horrible against Pascal. He had no confidence in his ability.

maybe the brits will win a world cup eventually too, but it is astronomically doubtful.

According to some, there will be another Bute. Or at least I just hope so. Go Lucien!

Yeah, opponents like Groves would have been considered bums some years ago for Bute. And DeGale lost to Groves. Stevenson the same before to get notoriety.

Tough one to call. Depends who turns up.

As others have said, if Bute can turn back the clock then he is a handful for any SMW.

It also depends what DeGale turns up. He seems to have got over the knee injury that plagued him for quite some time and you can see the benefits; punching harder, more mobility and not getting caught on the ropes (which is where he got into trouble in a few of those post Groves fights). I also dont think his stanima will be much of an issue. Against Dirrel he just over thought and judged the pacing of the fight to much. He hasn't really shown poor stanima in the past.

For me, it is DeGales attitude that could be his demise. When on form, he really is a quality fighter with a great variety of shots, able to switch hit, good defense and good power. However, he does have the tendency to be a bit mentally lazy in fights and not stick to his game plan. His ring IQ at times does leave a lot to be desired, too.

If DeGale is swithced on and Bute is the Bute of late, then DeGale will destroy him. If Bute is really going to give it one last proper go, then it could be interesting.
