I've always thought Calzaghe looked a bit of dickhead when he showboated - remember his gurning against Bika:patsch

But it was more impressive stuff last night, a bit flashier

Calzaghe RJJ'd Roy Jones yesterday on nearly all fronts - speed, show boating, footwork etc

I think he needed to do it against Roy just in case Roy started stealing rounds with a flashy combo or two and a bit of showboating. He toned it down after a few rounds didn't he?

On the whole though Joe can look a bit of a dickhead when he does it. He got clocked once last night, when he was pretending to be hurt. If he'd been floored he would be getting the **** taken to an epic degree right now.

Joe looks like a wanker when he showboats, the dry humping against Hopkins was seriously embarassing and gay.
Joe seems like a wanker in general if I am to be honest.

Personally thought it was quality last night, even the dry humping in the Hopkins fight :tong

Agreed theres good and bad showboating but i have to say, his is original at least, gets my vote any day cause it gets him the win,well........contributes to it :good

Its how relaxed he is with it that kinda freaks me out, gotta respect that.
Deliver punches correctly ? Last nights result should answer that :deal

Right, am off to Lee McAllister land for two days :-(

    Hairy :bbb

Yea but do the fans - both gay and straight -enjoy all this stuff? Of course they do! Come on, the fans love a bit of low hands tippy tappy showboating; and let's be honest RJJ has been a past master in the art of the wind-up he just met someone who's better at it. I bet a few HBO exec's are now wondering why they couldn't have tempted Joe C over years ago - think of all the dosh he could have made them.

Shame it's the end of his career; or is it? One wonders if contracts are being drawn up as we discuss this?

Nothing wrong with showboating against a guy in his prime but to do all that **** against a chap who has seen better days is a bit disrespectful.

Show boating against a true boxing legend who is shot to pieces is sad. It's the equivalent Spinks shouting to Ali "Whos the greatest" (not that he did that). Jones got away with it in his day because he'd totally out class the likes of James Toney, give Hopkins a one sided beat down and pick up a HW title. When you biggest calm to fame is beating Kessler, it's not quite the same...

Anyway, I didn't like Roy Jones showboating back in the day, I thought he was a bit of a plonk for doing it.

Last nights fight has left a real bitter aftertaste. I feel a bit like I did after seeing Lewis beat up a totally shot Tyson - in fact I feel a bit worse. Fights like that should not happen.

No I wouldn't say that... he comes across a real good guy. I don't rate him hugely as a boxer (comparitively to true ATG's) but as a bloke he strikes me as been a good fella... the wife incident aside which I know little about.

Yeah, he could do that now when Roy is shot. But, beating a shot fighter doesn't prove nothing or do anything for his legacy.

i didn't mind the showboating - i don't think he overdid it. and this could have been his last ever fight so let him have some fun.

some of the shots picked out as between-round replays were definitely slaps, although the cut was caused by a proper shot.
